"Everything was great at my first stay at the Bentley. I did self check in on my journey down and when I arrived the reception lady (Sophie) was nice, friendly and efficient, I paid with my credit card, received my keys and was soon up in my room. The room was large but a wee bit dated and tired looking but the bed was great. The heating radiators looked outdated but they worked efficiently and the room was always warm and cosy. The bathroom was clean and I've never stayed in a hotel room that had so much water pressure and hotness!! Wow it was scalding until you got used to it. My room shower control wasn't very good and hard to control but once used to it, it was great. Nice hand / body wash too. I ate once in the dining room and once in the bar area, both were great with plenty choice and everything tasted lovely. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful, brilliant selection. Unfortunately the spa was closed under renovation but the gym was newly refurbished and was brilliant! I never tried the Weatherspoons across the road but I did try Hickory's next door, I thought it was fantastic. I will certainly be back to stay."

"Everything about our stay was excellent. The accommodation was warm, spotlessly clean and the twin beds very comfortable. The room itself was the smallest in the house but we found it more than adequate and were very happy with the space. Our hosts were helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very welcome. The guesthouse is conveniently situated on the main bus route into the city so, as we did not have a car, there wasn't a problem getting out and about. All in all a fabulous place to stay. Highly recommended."

"Pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend. Room was spacious and clean. Loved the wines glasses! The breakfast was perfectly adequate and the shared kitchen clean and pleasant to sit in. We paid for carpark and were allowed to leave car the next for a visit of the city. A nice 20 minutes walk along the canal. Host very prompt and polite by text once we had booked. Great price for the convenience and facilities. Thank you ☺️ "
