"Booked a last minute trip to Whitby. Not at all disappointed with The Royal - great stay. Friendly , helpful staff who have great recommendations of what to do at night. Excellent breakfast - plenty of choice and tasty. Lovely bar. Our room was spacious, great bathroom and comfy beds. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back again. "
"Its not the most stylish or modern of places to stay but it has a lovely feel to it. Staff are honest, i left my ear buds and they handed them in. The building is quirky but i was so relaxed with my kids cos there was nothing to break/damage. I could smoke on the balcony and no one cared. I will stay here again 100%"
"Return visit like the area about 20-25 mins walk downhill to Whitby harbour area. Bus stop by school or Sainsburys minutes away.
Bedrooms clean and big for 2 people. Staff very friendly and helpful. Car parking free and if u forgot anything there is a sainsburys fee mins walk away

"First sight of the hotel made me think its was a bit run down, outside paint work and car park (that was of a good size) needed some TLC. On going in the Hotel was busy, the 2 staff that where there were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was fine room was ok for me ( bathroom needed to be made over) i was in room 12 facing the road so if you a light sleeper not the best room as you face the main road.
Martin who was holding the fort was on his own most of the time and did what he could to help guests, he is the chef and the meals that he did where 5 star.
Behind the hotel is a Leisure Club, the pool and jacuzzi was a very nice place to relax at the end of the day."
