We really enjoyed our stay! The hotel staff are wonderful, the food is fantastic (the best steak that we have ever had!), and the location is ideal (bus stop is in the parking lot ski in ski out when there is snow). The rooms are clean and modern. A resort shuttle runs when buses are not running (at an additional cost). This all made for a relaxing stay.

Grindelwald Boutique Hotel Gem
Grindelwald is the most beautiful valley we have ever visited….Aspen Alpin Lifestyle Hotel has an idyllic location and spectacular views. Rooms are spacious with a modern mountain vibe design. The in house chef is amazing. We enjoyed 4 nights stay and had dinner 3 times to experience his culinary talents. What a great stay!

There are flies everywhere on the property which would be fine given its rural location if the staff weren’t rude and exasperated when we first arrived and made note. Was seated in the wrong table for dinner which is also totally fine mistakes happen if it weren’t for the host that tried to turn around and blame us for giving the wrong room number in an angry tone. Most waitstaff were very friendly and kind but a number of the staff and receptionists were just plain disrespectful. Which, is a shame because the hotel is nice and the food is pretty good too.

Unless you want to be in the midst of touristy Grindelwald, choose Alpen alpin. Views of the Eiger, of the valley and town, just wonderful. Staff are all friendly and helpful, good sense of humor too :) Restaurant was so wonderful we ate there 3 times. Easy bus to town and lifts, or walk. I feel so lucky we stayed here.

The manager at the front desk needs some real manners of how to speak to clients We upgraded our room from their cubby hole rooms and they charged us a cleaning fee for moving rooms!! Their rooms are a complete sham, the manager challenges us to extend our check out time. Disgusting experience and will make sure no one ever stays there!!

The Aspen is my #1 choice in the Jungfrau
I’ve provided many reviews in the past as a simple courtesy, but I am obliged to submit this review based on yet another memorable stay at the Aspen. This was my third stay and the experience continues to be a 4+/5 star feel. My very well-appointed 3rd floor, corner suite had such excellent views of the surroundings, I ordered room service each night. Speaking of food, the breakfast continues to impress with fresh cheese, meats, bread, muesli, juice…you name it…and eggs made to order. I believe their dinner menu borders on 5-star quality with some wines to match (e.g. Masseto, Sassicaia). Naturally all this can’t happen without a “well-oiled machine” and the staff of this family-owned hotel are top notch. Most importantly, everyone at the Aspen is a pleasure to speak with before and after the day’s adventures. I will live in Switzerland in 2023 and plan to visit the Junfrau region frequently. The Aspen will continue to be my only choice ensuring every moment off the trail is unforgettable. Thank you, team Aspen.

This hotel is amazing! Great location and staff. Up to date with 5* amenities and dining. Excellent spa and jacuzzi. Easy transport (~10 minutes) to main city street via hourly bus, hotel shuttle, or taxi (~$25). The hotel put on a great new years eve party complete with fireworks and sky lanterns.

The Aspen in Grindelwald!
It was the perfect, breathtaking hub for an Alpine adventure - and we're in our 60s. The hot-tub with Jungfrau view was exactly what we needed. I always tell my kids: "Don't sleep in a restaurant. Don't eat in a hotel." But the restaurant at the Aspen made even a San Francisco girl turned Little Old Lady eat her words.

Amazing and breathtaking views. Breakfast was average... No special requests like others do example omelettes. Amazed at the number of smashed flies on the ceiling, at this price I would expect perfection. Beds were not comfortable.

Nice hotel in Grindelwald
I stayed for 6 days at this hotel. I used it as a base to visit the main attraction around Grindelwald. It has a free bus to take you from the hotel to the city and vice versa. It has a great spa, although their policy is not child-friendly, what was disappointing. The restaurant at the hotel uses very good ingredients and have a very good chef, but the menu is very sophisticated (unnecessary sophisticated) and expensive (almost double the price when compared to most restaurants at the city), so it is not the best option if your tired and just want to eat something and relax.

It was a rather hasty made choice but we loved the Hotel. The welcome was super friendly and the location was superb. We only spent one night there so didn’t use all the facilities. Will definitely return.

Very good overall
We loved staying at the hotel. We got a nice big suite to accomodate our family. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is clean and newly built. There is close to main village centre (around 15 min drive to main station) and easily accessible by bus. The dinner menu and food is beyond delicious. Only downfall is the breakfast. Not a big variety. Overall, we would happily go back next time we are in Grindelwald..

Hotel Aspen is asthetically stunning. The hotel lobby and bar are very clean. We stayed in room 212 which for the money was tiny and lacked all amenities. There was no coffee machine or kettle, which for a four star hotel is very unusual. The mini bar was empty and there was no room service card despite the hotel saying room service is available. The hotel atmosphere was lacklustre and the bathroom toiletries came with a note telling guests not to steal them! It was as if we were suspected criminals not paying guests. The service was disappointing at best, we would stand at reception in front of an employee who completely ignored us for several minutes and stared at the computer, it was awkward and embarrassing. The hotel had very little guests yet we were not offered an upgrade despite being given a room no bigger than a cupboard. The room was dirty, there were cobwebs in the corners, the floor was unclean and there was an unprecedented amount of flies. Flies are expected, we live in the countryside yet there was no preventative measures in place. The hotel doesn't specify anywhere that the distance to Grindelwald, the closest town is easily a 60 minute walk and all uphill on the way back. Yes there is a bus but last run is at 6pm! There are no other places to eat close by and the restaurant is expensive. We would have liked to have seen accurate representation of actual distances. The spa was great but the hotels only saving grace. You can get a lot more for a lot less i

A remarkable haven in the midst of the Alps
This fantastic find in the shadows of the Eiger Mountain outside of the village of Grindelwald was better than I could have imagined. Everything seemed "new" - the hotel was impeccably maintained and all of the staff gracious, helpful and there was nothing they could not provide. They had a shuttle service at our disposal for pick up or delivery to the village or rescue from a long journey down the mountain on our skis. The food was excellent, though expensive for dinner. The spa was magnificent, with the best stainless steel outdoor hot tub that seemed to bubble from just about everywhere! I would definitely consider this hotel again should I ever be able to ski or visit this region in the future..

This was my second stay at the Aspen in 2 years and it continues to impress. This family run hotel impresses at beyond a 4 star level to include the staff, spa/facilities, suites, restaurant, not to mention the fantastic breakfast served. An ideal location away from the center of Grindelwald with a front seat view of the Eiger adds to the great experience. I plan to be there again in 2 years and will not consider another hotel.

We stayed 2 nights for visiting the Top of Europe and the general area. The hotel location is excellent. The hotel is in a particularly good area for views of the mountains. The lady on the reception was very helpful for everything. We found the room too warm and not a comfortable temperature for sleeping. My 9th visit to Switzerland and this was by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Good and convenient access to nearby excursions and activities. Definitely will be staying here again on future visits.

With free transport from train station. Very good mountain view. Very comfortable suite room except lots of flies & insect at the first night. Fortunately an insect catcher is available. We stayed comfortably there for 3 nights.

We will be back!
We were there with another family, both family have a three year old kid. They had a great play room for this age and tons of toys. We missed all the hotel staff and Minouche(hope I spelled right). The only downside was the flies in the room and restaurants. If we go and visit again we would stay again.
