The manager and staff are very friendly and always checking if all is fine. The facilities are excellent and clean. Best location and we enjoyed the clean swimming pool and bbq area the most. Thanks for a wonderful stay from the Kemp family! : )

Need improvement
This was the 2nd time I started here, last year was quite ok and acceptable but this time I am sure all the water taps need to be fix, it was so loud and shaking when turn the taps on. The floors were dirty and sticky. Need a proper clean up when rent out, I don’t think I will stay here again when I come again.

Very well located between Broadbeach and Surfers town centres. Easy to access with public transport. Quiet location. Short stroll to beach. Some nice restaurants nearby.

Would like to have spare toilet rolls had none. Lucky the next door had a spare. Could do with a folder to explain about the area and amenties. Booked a three bedroom appartment only gave us a two bedroom. Lucky they had a spare apartment they offered us. Very noisy during the night especially at 3am.

Stayed for 5 nights and didn’t get fresh towels or linen once! Had to pay for it if we wanted it! Food still on the cutlery and lots of cockroaches! No shade over the pool was annoying! Staff were friendly and check in/out was quick and easy.

Be prepared to clean it yourself
The place is old and I had low expectations which was lucky. The room was dirty; crumbs on kitchen bench, a thick layer of dust everywhere,the fridge had spilt drink all over it and the floor felt like walking on the beach.There was no vacuum or cleaning products provided and the screen doors did not lock. I purchased mop and cleaners and gave it a good clean before we unpacked. After that it was great, plenty room, nice pool and bbq, quiet apartments although the backpacker place behind was noisy at night. The linen was changed at 7 days which was suitable as the apartment had an efficient washing machine. I would stay there again as after the initial clean it worked really well for us being close to tram, car parking and was way more relaxed than staying in highrises.

Loved the pool. Nice and big. The room we stayed in was a little tired but with 2 bedrooms & an exceptionally large dining & living area it made for a great stay. We wanted to stay longer but it was booked out. Close to everything including PAC Fair, the beautiful beach & Broadbeach eating & shopping precinct.

The website needs to be updated to advise that the property does not have a lift. If I had of known this at time of booking I would have definitely booked somewhere else, as both my children are asthmatics. The fire evacuation plan on the back of the front door needs to be removed as it’s false advertising. My husband nearly electrocuted himself by trying to remove the light bulb and a live wire was exposed. We asked the owner to remove it from our room. The pots were not clean, the cupboards are broken, the chairs have sticky tape to hold them together, the master bedroom fan cannot be put on low as it turns off. On medium it knocks all night. Not once did our sheets get removed and washed in the 10 days we were there. The balcony light doesn’t work. The TV remote didn’t have any batteries. The remote did not work once we received batteries, we had to manually turn it off at the unit. The oven was left on when we arrived. Overall very disappointed and would not recommended it to anyone. The apartments that were shown on the website was nothing like the apartment we stayed in. For the money we paid, I believe that we should be compensated for the disappointment of our first family holiday.

The onsite manager was lovely. Pool area great for the kids. Bbq area clean and useable. The apartment itself was dated but fine with a few things could be improved. Dripping tap in one bathroom. Floor could have done with a good vacuum- found contact lenses, water bottle under bed & a necklace on the floor. Overall was fine for the amount spent. Definitely a 3 star property but if looking for a cheap stay close to beach and facilities it’s good.

This apartment is located at a nice location, but service provided is not that great. I was not provided WiFi password even after couple of follow up during my stay. Also, I could see some cockroaches in the kitchen and rooms had a strange smell. They need to get rooms better cleaned.

Hi Margaret, I am very sorry for all the inconvenience caused to you but still really disappointed by your comments to us as well. Your comments is very unfair to me and my staff. The real thing is that you park your car in someone else's parking space first and got a notice due to your unauthorized parking, and before that you have already been told the parking space is the same as your room number. Then you came to my staff with a very bad attitude and argue with her, I can understand your uncomfortable mood after seeing the notice, but please also understand other people's uncomfortable mood when his or her car parking space been occupied when he or her came back home. And then you complained to our staff about the room, I have to say we did a very professional and deep cleaning for the room before you checked in, the mold you complained about was not mold at all, it is a stain in the class. And we offered to change another room for you, but you refused. What's worse thing is, you left the dirty dishes and smelly rubbish when you check out, even white towels you left in the bathroom have many dirty marks and stink. I have all the photos for that. Obviously, I have been charged a double cleaning fee for that which should by charged by you but I did not. My staff and I greatly respect every guests, but your repeated unpractical comments in public are really unfair to us. I am sorry to see you unhappy with us, But I have to say, we did our best try to please you, but you said no.

I found the service provided at reception terrible. Upon check in I had to ring the bell multiple times and it wasn't until a cleaner walked by that she went and got someone to help me. On another occasion my husband went to ask for an extra roll of toilet paper and was told that they only provide one and then it is up to us to purchase more, however, there is no information anywhere (on the website or in the rooms) to indicate this. On check out the reception desks states that it opens as 8.30am however on presentation to check out again there was no one to be found. They had a number to contact for assistance which I rang multiple times and only once did I get the option to leave a message which I did and also sent a text message to no avail. I also tried ringing the bell as well. I waited for 20 minutes before I decided to just leave the key in the room and then sent a text message stating that I had done this and then left the premises. It was probably another 10 minuted before someone called me back. DISAPPOINTING!!!

STILL WAITING ON MY HOLDING DEPOSIT!!!
Got told my holding deposit was non-refundable after being assured I would get it back after my stay. I left that filthy unit in a cleaner condition and didn't damage anything. When i called 2 weeks later to see were the holding deposit was the lady said its non-refundable. Not very happy with the service or the state of the property.

However, this is a hotel regulation, which requires all guests to do the pre-auth on card or takes bond at the time of arrival, just to prevent any damage to the room. Because the pre-auth is not a charge, like a frozen state. So it's will be shows “Pending” on your bank account history. When you see the state of the inspection disappear, it means that the money has been released for you. The bank told us that it would normally take five working days to thaw out after you check out. Room is not properly cleaned. A leftover glass particle pierced into my kid's leg and resulted in blood. No spare toilet tissues abd garbage bags. Spa did not work. Kids were disappointed.

Comfortable but price gouging during Com Games
This accommodation was booked for Commonwealth Games due to location. The apartment was comfortable enough with the bathrooms and kitchen recently renovated, however we found that many things just didn't work such as lights, keys and TV remotes. Some of the fittings and basic amenities provided were very obviously on the cheap side. Staff were very friendly and helpful, however they were very hard to find during business hours with the reception desk frequently left unattended. This accommodation was also extremely overpriced. While I understand that prices do go up during significant events such as the Commonwealth Games, I also feel that given the standard of accommodation, we were ripped off big time.

Good location but that’s the only positive
Arrived well befor check in and to my surprise the room was ready, at this stage staff we lovely. Got to the room and it was nice but nothing was cleaned properly I had to wash all the cutlery and dishes. Bedrooms were a god size but the linen provided was cheep and dirty. Checking out staff couldn’t have been ruder, asked to leave my bags with reception as my flight wasn’t for another couple of hours to be told a firm NO with no second thoughts about it: I won’t be staying here again unless management actually start cleaning rooms and putting their customer first.

So when we first got to our room at Surfers Tradewinds, I was fully prepared to give them a 4 star rating. Yes it wasn't the tidiest, but it was also cheap. We got a room upgrade, and check in was a breeze. But ... I had to check in after hours. The next day I see a form for me to sign requesting a $200 bank hold as a bond. This wasn't something I'd read about, nor was it something I would have agreed to upon purchasing my stay at Tradewinds. We are a young couple, pinching every penny; and needed that $200 as emergency money. I emailed the owner and request the bond be waived. The bond seemed ridiculous given the condition of the rooms. The carpets had stains everywhere, the heatpump was leaking water straight over an electrical outlet, the bathroom wasn't clean and the furniture wasn't cared for. If they have taken a bond of anyone, it certainly doesn't look like they have used it to maintain the rooms. I had direct communication via. Email about after hour check in ... however, after I requested the bond to be waived, I never got a response. Further the manager is only on site between 10am and 3pm. Just a little bit of care would have made our stay better. A toaster that worked. A nonstick frypan. Dishwash liquid and a dishbrush ... lights working. All lights working - especially up the corridors to our rooms. Cotton sheets instead of microfibre.

When you give us the email to explain that you do not want to do that, then we waived that for you, we did not take any $200 bond from your credit card. Also, we still provide you the unlimited WiFi for free and treat you as our treasure costumer. For the room problems you mentioned, we are so sorry about that and do apologies about all inconvenience. The owner is happy to change some old facilities and upgrade the units in this month and we will still keep taking good care of the units also. Roaches, Filth and Desperate For Attention
The apartment was very displeasing to the eye, the carpets had stains all throughout. Multiple light globes did not work including the second bedroom, the ceiling fan in the second bedroom did not work. The air con was in the lounge room in a weird position so the lounge was nice and cool but the air struggled to reach the bedrooms leaving the evenings with a fairly uncomfortable nights sleep even with the air con on all day and night. There were a LOT of cockroaches, must have seen a good 60 in the few days we were there. The paint job on the walls was incredibly lazy, to the point where the phone and air con were covered in paint, very bad look. If I’d spent anymore than $100 a night I would have seemed to get my money back and go somewhere else, but the price was fairly decent (though I’m sure a lot of backpackers would have been far cleaner and more attentive for less cost) and the location was pretty good so if you don’t plan on spending much time in your room and you can get it cheap then you can deal with the other stuff.

If you are after budget accomodation without the bells and whistles then this hotel would be sufficient. We were disappointed that the room was not supplied with several necessary items. We had no toaster, extra toilet rolls, no bathroom plugs for sinks and bath, not enough satchels for washing, and no hairdryer. We had to ask for several things. One shower was unusable due a tap handle being broken. The pool was not opened when advertised on the signs.

Close to all facilities
The hotel is very close to the backpackers which is very noisy specially when you have small children, there was no toaster and not enough cooking utensils (pans ect). On the up note the kids loved the pool and spa.

I stayed at Traders Tropique next door, which was very good. Surfers Tradewinds were having repairs done. It was very good.

street parking availability really bad. taking rubbish to bin station along footpath not good. hotel is aged and some areas in units need work ( cupboards and internal door handles/locks ) . water dripping from ceiling down to plastic container on floor outside unit door.

Comfortable apartment fully equipped. Although parking wasn't available due to renovations. Difficult to find parking on street.
