The room faces the railroad, so it wasn't quiet. However, it wasn't shared in advance. The check-in was not friendly, and we were checked in only after signing the BW hotel membership. No hot oatmeal, as is customary around the world, was served for breakfast.

We are sorry that you were not informed at check-in that the room was on the railway side. Unfortunately, this is actually the case with the standard category booked. We would like to recommend our comfort category to you. This is located on the street side and is much quieter. Regarding the Best Western membership, we would like to sincerely apologize if there was any misunderstanding on our part. The option of checking in in conjunction with a membership should give you the advantage that you do not have to pay an early check-in fee and at the same time you can collect points worldwide for free. Of course, checking in earlier is also possible without a membership, but in this case we would have had to charge a fee. We still take your advice very seriously and will once again sensitize our colleagues. We will forward your criticism regarding the hot oatmeal to the responsible department and correct it if necessary. If such a situation arises again, please feel free to contact our service staff so that they can help you accordingly. Kind regards from Darmstadt

The pool is 10 euro, for 1 night it was a good stay, close to the airport, kids enjoyed the pool and there were food delivery options.

Worst night ever
If you're looking for a place to get a restful night's sleep, Best Western and Plaza hotels are definitely not the places to go. I learned this the hard way after a recent stay at the Best Western Plaza hotel in Darmstadt. In the middle of the night, we were abruptly awoken by a loud electrical bang. It turns out there was an electrical hazard in the hotel. The noise was so loud that it was impossible to sleep through it (80-90db). When I spoke to the night receptionist about the situation, he told me to take some ear plugs. The problem wasn't solved until an hour later. Needless to say, it was a very disruptive and unpleasant experience. When we checked out the next day, the day receptionist was rude when I told him we were unhappy with our stay. He rudely threw us a free parking ticket and acted like that should be thanking him up for the terrible experience we had. I would avoid any Best Western or Plaza hotel in the future. If you're looking for a place to stay, it would be better to sleep in your car than stay at one of these hotels.

Clean business style hotel just a 5 minute walk from Darmstadt central train station. Comfy room and pleasant stay. Only frustration was the swimming pool is currently closed for refurbishment, something it would have been good to communicate in advance.

Experience was bad. Room was too hot, sked for help but no one was available. Guidance given was to open the window. In winter!!!! Also wanted few English tea bags, but was given only 1 and was informed as per policy ☹️😡

Loud music was played with thud thud thud , I complained to reception and then it went down, the next morning it stated again, I complained to reception only to be told that they had an event on above our room!! That spoilt our stay, the main thing was the lack of interest by reception

The hotel was so hot it was unbearable. The ac only works in the summer. The temp in the room had to be 28 degrees. If you opened the window, a train would wake up up about every 7 minutes. I should have realized there was a problem when I found earplugs on the bed at check in. I don’t recommend this hotel.

Our main air conditioning system only heats in the "heating period", but we also have an air refreshing system that brings cool air into the rooms in winter as well. Comfortable and clean
Very nice and comfortable hotel. I had a room on side close to train tracks which kept me up the first night but they moved me on 2nd night and was great. Pool is wonderful. Breakfast needs a little improvement. Eggs not very good, sausages cold, not a great selection of meats for a German hotel.

Good stay
Nice room and comfortable. Good service particularly in the bar when ordering my evening meal. Breakfast was a bit confusing in terms of how it was all laid out but receptions staff friendly and helpful. The only thing is if you are on the station side of the hotel, which I was, the trains are pretty loud. I stayed on the other side last time and will remember to ask for a road side room next time.
