Unfortunately when we got to our room we found a ton of bugs on the walls, on the ceiling, and staining on the sheets so we have to assume that this room was infested with bed bugs. Brian at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly, he assisted with getting us a full refund at midnight and we ultimately decided to leave and go to another hotel. When we arrived everything looked clean and great, this could happen anywhere but it was definitely an issue in this room. Can't say if it's an issue in every one of their rooms.

Unfortunately my room doesn’t have a working television set. A technician came to my room and tried to correct the problem but in the end I am still without a television set. Since I am paying over $200.00 per night for the room, I consider that to be indefensible. Otherwise, my room was decent.

Chose to get a hotel the day before our cruise set sail to be able to spend time with a friend whom I hadn’t seen in years. She lives about 45 min south of this hotel so she too chose to stay at the same property so we could maximize on the our time together. Upon arrived at approx 5:30pm, we were told our room was still not available. Check in was at 3pm. Myself, my friend and our 3 children were eager to get in the pool and enjoy what was left of the sun. To do this we had to bring our luggage and change in the public restroom where the stalls were barely big enough for a grown adult and people whom were not paying to stay at the hotel also used. After another hour, the front desk came to our table by the pool to inform me that I had been ‘upgraded to a suite’ and my room was ready! My friends room still was not. I originally paid for a corner room w/ PREMIUM waterview and was told I had been upgraded to a penthouse! I’m sure you could imagine my 12yr old daughter’s excitement to hear this… I was however placed on the top floor in the middle of 2 penthouses. It’s possible this room that I was so graciously ‘upgraded’ to was the previous broom closet of a penthouse or maybe a utility closet for the top floor? It was everything but a penthouse. Beyond anticlimactic to walk into. The mold soiled bin that collects the A/C drop on balcony was atrocious but the valet leaving my keys to my car completely unattended at the front of the hotel was the final straw for me.

This is a fab property with a great location and views of life in marina. It is falling apart, not very clean and it’s like the owners don’t care about it anymore. Furniture, blinds falling apart. Shoddy repairs. Really sad because the location is terrific. Prices are high as well for food and drinks in both bar and restaurant. Food was good. No coffee maker in the room. Complimentary coffee in the lobby but gone by 10 am. Pool was great but a battle every morning for the chairs - 8. Too bad has tons of potential. Close to restaurants and Pompano beach though about 2 blocks

John, Steve, and Virginia were really attentive fun and professional at the pool/bar area. They went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. There were several times when pool towels were unavailable-one time we were given bath mats. After our room was cleaned they didn’t leave fresh towels. Pool chairs are near impossible to get but overall it’s a great place to stay and a very fun atmosphere

The location of this property is excellent. The pool area does not have enough lounge chairs for guests. I was lucky to go out early in the morning and get one which turned out to be very beautiful. The hotel is in need of refurbishing in a lot of areas, The outdoor bar and restaurant were lovely and staff is great. I think for the price per night it was definitely worth it and I probably would return.

The room where i stay didnt look anything close to the pictures, carpet old and dirty, beds was broken and you can tell that building is old, they need to replace doors, cabinets, carpets, the room was smelling to humidity, i call twice for have the room clean thay never came.

It’s a nice location on the marina. Very short walk to the beach. The pool area is tiny. Only about 8 lounge chairs. Cute bar and eating area. Staff was nice and helpful.

I love the atmosphere! The music, the band, the food and drinks. The veiw, to die for!! Our bathroom was very old altho my friends room had been renovated and was very nice. Tub wasn't clean but the room was.

Walking to beach was very easy. We loved the proximity. The pool area was small with less than 10 lounge chairs and basically in the middle of a dining area. So if you’re looking to lounge and relax by the pool this is not the place. The food is excellent at the bar as well as the Rusty Hook. Steve and Glenn are over the top attentive and super friendly. We enjoyed having them take care of us both days we sat by the water. Brayden was amazing at check in and check out. We got in early and he stored and then delivered our luggage to our room when it was ready. Same at check out. Honestly, we can not say enough about service and friendliness of the Sands Harbor staff! As far as prior reviews that we read about band being too loud at night, we enjoyed the music and both the band and the bar stopped at 10 pm which we thought was very reasonable. The rooms and facilities are outdated but it looks like they are renovating. We would definitely stay again. Really loved the area.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the lobby looks like it was recently redecorated. Those are the positives. Our room was a premier room and it was pretty beat up. It looks like there was heavy water damage to the flooring- the entire floor was wavy from damage. The rug under the bed was extremely soiled and sticky. The front door had a 2” gap at the bottom from water damage— you could see outside through the gap. In general the room and floor was very dirty. The connecting room door lock would not lock leaving serious security concerns. Lots of work needed here and cleaning needs to be done!!!!
