The hotel told us they didn’t receive our reservation through Expedia, even though they did eventually found out that Expedia has sent the reservation into their email. We booked for five nights, and they only have one night available. The staff told us she was sorry about the situation, and we can drink the water in the mini bar for free. Then the next morning, another staff came over and charged quite a bit for the drinks. The room had a very high ceiling and the ac was barely working, it can’t cool off the room at all… It is a very dishonest place….. will never book it again.

Good morning,as already mentioned, it was an error on our part and on expedia's part, as the communication between lor and our channel manager did not work when you made your booking. We had told you that we were offering you the bottles of water you had in the minibar and instead you took advantage of it and practically emptied our fridge... having said that we are sorry for the situation but when you came here you didn't show all this annoyance

Staff was very friendly and helpful, ready to share recommendations on travelling around and out of Florence and provided simple yet rich breakfast with everything you need for your day exploring. Residenza Castiglioni was a great place to stay for me as a solo traveler. Its location is amazing and they have great breakfasts from 8-10AM. The only issue for me was figuring out how to get past the giant iron gated door to actually enter the building. There is no indication of what to do to get in until you get your keys from the lobby on the 2nd floor of the building. I almost had a mini panic attack from worry that I would have to sleep on the streets ! And no one answered the phone when I tried to call the hotel to ask for help. But aside from that situation, the room itself was very nice, kept very clean, and was perfect for my 4 night trip.

Romantic place to stay, close to all major sites
Cosy little single room, had everything I needed and was a very nice place to come back too after a day out in Florence exploring. Close to all sights and also close to the station - walking distance from everything. Breakfast was lovely - boiled eggs, not scrambled, but still the pastries and the cheese, meats were devine and brown bread options My soy milk request was also met without hesitation.

Location in city is perfect . Within walking distance to most all cultural venues. BUT personell at the hotel made no effort to extend help on getting around town. Had 'attitude ' when checking in and when asking other questions. Seemed to be 'bothered ' . Been to other hotels in Florence and Milan that I would return to, not this hotel because of lack of hospitality.

Very convenient location. Easy walking distance to the train station and attractions. Staff accommodating and helpful, including holding our bags after check-out. Our room was larger than expected. Had some of the feel of staying in an old palazzo, with antique furniture, high ceiling and exposed beams. Room was clean and well-kept, as was the bathroom. Housekeeping attended to it daily. Breakfast was extensive considering that the property only has 6 rooms. Some very good restaurants close by, as well as some shopping. Also very close to the Mercato Centrale and Mercato San Lorenzo. We were very happy with the property and would recommend it to travelers looking for something a little different than the average hotel room.

Excellent location and pleasant experience
This room was quite large, quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful and prepared. Breakfast as well was a bit cramped, but well prepared and staff were prompt in making room for guests as quickly as possible. The location was PERFECT. Within easy walking distance of all the historical sights we wanted to visit. Parking as well was a breeze. I would be happy to stay again and encourage you to try it out.

I love this room, big and classy with modern enough upgrade and located right in heart of florence surpringly easy parking, just next door have garage that offer Vallet parking for 27 euro for overnight which I think quite reasonable for downtown, compare to most USA Downton parking, this is cheap

Great choice, close to everything for tourists.
Great location. Remember to look for the blue street number plate, not the other ones. Great service. Not too sure about the street parking, but there is a parking garage next door for Euro $20+ a day. Tons of restaurants and few supermarkets downstair and 5 mins walking distance. Great breakfast also!!

The hotel and room was great. The place did not have air conditioning which made the heat nearly unbearable. Additionally it was not fully communicated how to get to the hotel which is on the third floor of a building. Also I felt as though it lacked privacy with the rooms and doors so close together. However the stay was nice and the staff was great.

Fabulous Florence Apartment!
The executive suite was large and just beautiful. The room had 2 bathrooms one with a tub and one with a shower. The room was literally like an apartment with an extra bonus room with chairs and a window. It had a walk in closet off of the bonus room right next to the bathroom with the tub. Lovely! The room was clean and had a large screen TV and a safe and a refrigerator stocked with goodies for purchase. The breakfast was hearty and delicious. Many foods to choose from. Pastries, home made yogurt, meats, cheeses, granola, fresh fruit juices, hard boiled eggs etc. Cappuccinos were served with a smile or a heart in them and were delicious with breakfast. Made to order as many as you like.The location was excellent. Walking distance from the train station and all the sights. We didn't have to use a taxi once and saw all the major sites. Plenty of restaurants around and the leather street market was only a block away. I can't say enough good things about our stay here.Check in was easy with the lift and staff was friendly. Safe neighborhood and restaurants and grocery just outside the entrance door. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Florence.

The spaces are large and beautifully appointed in the old residence. Regretfully, there was no air conditioning and high summer temps disabled our ability to use the room. We moved our 2nd night to a newly renovated upper level penthouse that would be perfect for 2 women or guys to use with 2 baths. The issue however that necessitates a change are the beds themselves...absolutely hard as rocks. Also the lighting isn't all practical due to many switches and overhead bed lights; while a great thought, are too strong and therefore glaring and unusuable at short distance. Also, be prepared to navigate your bags on your own. If these things don't matter, the location and overall lodging is good for the price.
