Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Cloverdale could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your important medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes in the cabin by dressing in layers, and opt for closed-toe, flat footwear like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
