"I rarely write reviews this negative, but my recent experience at the Kimpton Hotel Sylvia was unacceptable. In over a decade of frequent travel, this was easily one of the most disappointing stays I have ever encountered. The Room & Maintenance The issues began immediately when I was checked into the wrong room—a significant downgrade—and told that since the hotel was full, nothing could be changed. The room itself was in a state of total disrepair: • Hygiene: The room was visibly dirty. There was trash left in the bins from previous guests, hair on the floor, and even old hair clips left behind. • Climate Control: The air conditioning was completely non-functional. • Plumbing: The bathroom was rusted out, the toilet did not function properly, and the shower would not turn off once started. The Staff The only reason I am giving this stay even one star is the staff. They were genuinely friendly and professional; however, they are clearly working with a property that is so run down that there is very little they can do to improve the guest experience. Verdict No amount of friendly service can make up for a room that is fundamentally broken and unsanitary. Until this property undergoes a massive renovation, I would strongly advise staying anywhere else."

"I have stayed at many of the nearby properties, and the Wyndham has been my best Atlanta experience so far. I loved that I could valet Park or Self Park, based on what my needs were for the day. I appreciate the convenient location, across the street from the mall and close by to the interstate. Each member of the staff greeted me as they passed me in the hallway or in the lobby always asking if I needed anything. My room was comfortable, clean and I had a great night’s sleep. I highly recommend."

"Great Location, room was spacious. Parking is weird. Not enough info regarding parking before you arrive. The spaces reserved to park during check in were taken up by guest who used the spaces to park for their entire stay. I paid for two spaces for two days while I noticed the guest who were taking up the checkin spaces avoided the parking fees by not moving from the timed spaces the entire weekend, The clearly marked check in only spaces were occupied my entire stay by the same three cars that were unpacking to check in when I arrived. I had to park on the fourth floor of the parking deck check in, pay for the two days for two cars go back to the parking deck drag two cars worth of luggage back to the hotel. The guest spaces went unchecked the entire weekend resulting in the guest who parked in the spaces at the same time that I arrived had to receive free parking and the conscience of not having to hike back and fourth to their car. No way was I the only guest upset by the same three cars utilizing the loading and unloading spots for three entire days. If I noticed it how could the hotel staff not see it, but had stressed to us at check in that we needed to pay the parking fees?"

"The staff was so friendly and helpful. There was an event on-site in which the individual managing the event was rude to my daughter and myself as we went to access the garden area. The gentleman at the front desk was able to assist immediately to help navigate guest access. Thank you, that was one of the reasons we booked this location and we appreciated the support."
