We use this Hotel quite a lot for work, rooms are nice & staff are always really helpful if required. Perfectly situated for our short commute "cracking walk along the front first thing in the morning, if the weather allows!!". Myself & my colleagues will definitely be using the Hotel again when we are back down in a few weeks.

Room smelt very strongly of chemicals, probably a mix of paint and bleach. We also discovered bed bugs in the bed so decided at midnight to vacate the hotel and find somewhere else to stay, at much greater expense.

Simple and beautiful
Very sweet and accommodating staff. 7 minute walk from the pubs and shopping and across the street from the beach. Just perfect in my opinion.

Great hotel. Had an issue with a window that would not close but moved promptly and offered refund of difference in room. Lovely hotel and fantastic staff/management. Highly recommended. Great location A

Worst hotel i have stayed in...
The whole experience was awful. Bed uncomfortable. Staff had attitude.. and breakfast was inedible... Everthing was an argument.. I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy..

Fortunately you are in the minority. Unfortunately you were after a free room upgrade which we could not offer. Our staff need to be treated with respect. We longer accept our staff being verbally abused.

Great Hotel
Very nice family run hotel, comfortable, with beautiful views of the ocean. The staff were welcoming especially Julie who goes out of her way for the guests.

My solo stay at Membly Hall
Very efficient booking in, room had everything I needed, breakfast offered lots of options and was good quality. I used the hot tub and sauna which was a nice option. Staff were friendly and courteous at all times. Beds and bedding were comfortable Nice atmosphere

wi fi coverage
generally fine only issue was wi fi coverage we were in room 3 and the wi fi booster outside in the hallway signal didnt go any distance into the room maybe due to heavy wire meshed partition door and our heavy fire door similar poor wi fi signal at far end of breakfast room suggest you locate a a wi fi booster plug in the room

Fire alarm went off at 5am when we stayed and it would appear there was no members of staff on the premises to help, guide or assist us - beyond poor. We didn’t even receive an apology when we left. Shame as overall staff were very helpful and friendly in a basic but ok hotel. Wouldn’t return or recommend.

I am sorry that your stay was interrupted by our fire alarms activating in the early hours and we know this can be very disorientating when being woken from sleep. This was a fault on a detector. We ALWAYS have a member of staff on site 24hrs a day. He saw that everybody was leaving the building as per your instruction on the bedroom door, so proceeded to find the location of the source to confirm there was no further danger. Two managers then arrived at the Hotel to assist in the reset of the system. A member of staff then informed guests that it was safe to return to the building. Fire safety is something we take very seriously and always review. General manager

The location is spectacular, right along the beech road. Parking is fairly ample and the hotel grounds are quite good with a seating area outside for an evening drink. The staff are nice and friendly and the food provided was good too. Our only criticism would be that the room we stayed in was extremely tiny for two people. We had to move furniture around on several occasions and the room itself got extremely hot with the sun coming in with only a desk fan to help (which really didn't).

Terrible Sleep, Outdated, Not for light sleepers
The hotel is very outdated, reception not very friendly or welcoming. The room had a lot of dirty areas, and the bathroom door broken. The walls are SO thin, terrible nights sleep as we could hear the person in the next door room snoring all night, it felt like he/she was sleeping right next to us as it was so loud. Could hear everything, including footsteps/voices from upstairs and the hallway. The hotel is clearly for coach trip people, primarily the elderly, so maybe we were treated differently being younger, but got a lot of people staring and not friendly.
