"Rooms were modern, clean, a good size. Breakfast was more than adequate, especially considering it was included. Location was excellent. 5 minute walk to the center of downtown. Parking was easy to access and also included. "
"The property has degraded over the years while the prices have increased. The swimming pool was out of service - again - and the outdoor hot tub was filthy. The TVs in the bedrooms didn't work, which happened the last time too. I requested a crib prior to arrival and they said they would put it in the room, but when we got there it wasn't. I called the front desk and they asked if it could wait until the next day! When the crib was delivered the young guy delivered it assembled to the door and just said: "Here" and left. I struggled to get it in, up the stair and in the room by myself. "
"This is a higher end hotel here in Banff. It’s very nice but I’m not sure I would call it premium. Room we had was a balcony with mountain view. Very nice view and balcony, except you are also looking directly into other people’s rooms below as well.
The room itself was spacious enough, bathroom is quite nice and the little sink coffee bar was quite cute. Fridge is tiny so don’t expect to put much in there. The coffee and tea they offered was quite nice but I’ll get to the quirks later.
Fireplace in the room is also quite nice. But here are the issues.
Heater/ air con unit is really loud. I know this is common but for a higher end place maybe I expected a better system in lieu of a window unit.
The bed. Very spacious and general comfortable except you’re sleeping on a plastic wrapped bed so every movement made a squeak. Was weird.
The bed is also right beside the door and there is literally no insulation, so every noise, door opening or talk in the halls felt like it was inside the room. Our door was also crooked so this didn’t help.
Also the rooms were not full in our tower (B). Yet they somehow put use right across from a family with a colic (or neglected) baby that cried constantly from 6-8 pm. We almost complained but we decided to take the high road. You would think they could isolate this family but… whatever.
Check-in. Great overall but we were tired and just wanted to get in out room but they ask you what coffee and tea you want and hand pick everything for yo"
"We arrived at the hotel hoping our room might be ready a little before the guaranteed 4:00 p.m. check-in time, as it was raining heavily outside and my daughter needed time to get ready for a dance competition. The front desk attendant advised that we would receive a text once the room was ready, so we waited on the couches directly beside the front desk.
After waiting most of the afternoon with no updates, around 3:45 p.m. the attendant finally radioed housekeeping to check on the status of our room. At 3:59 p.m. we were told the housekeeping manager still needed to double-check the room, and we ultimately did not receive the text that our room was ready until 4:10 p.m.
What disappointed me most was the lack of urgency or thought given to the situation, especially considering the 4:00 p.m. check-in time is advertised as guaranteed. While waiting within earshot of the desk, we could also hear staff complaining about customer requests, which left a very poor impression and soured the start of our stay.
I understand delays can happen, but better communication, professionalism, and consideration for guests would have gone a long way."
