"Great location but still was quiet at night. Super easy to get to all main locations in kyoto. The room was huge and plenty of room to open luggage. I liked how the toilet was separate from the shower. "

The location is extremely convenient, with easy access to both bus and train lines, and plenty of dining options in the surrounding area. The hotel itself is excellent and clearly very popular. The onsen is superb—spanning multiple floors—and the property offers a number of thoughtful extras, including complimentary ramen from 9 to 11 p.m., which was a fun and welcome touch. Overall, we were truly glad to have stayed here. It’s a fantastic, well-located hotel that makes exploring Kyoto effortless."

"We loved this hotel, and had a great 4 day stay in Kyoto. Very upscale and peaceful, in a quiet, non-touristy neighbourhood, with lots of convenient travel options. And we ended up in nearby underground jazz bar Zac Baran twice, as well as a tiny local restaurant about 15 minutes walk west, same side of street as hotel, called kawahigashi (it also says 'food and beverage' in English outside). We were the only people on a weeknight, with a single chef/server doing everything, and the food was phenomenal and reasonably priced."

"We spent two weeks in Japan, staying at several hotels and Airbnbs, and Moksa quickly became our favorite. The hotel is set on a stunning garden, and the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth. Compared to other places we stayed, Moksa offered spacious rooms with bathrooms completely separate from the showers, plus adorable, comfortable loungewear to wear around the property. We also loved the sauna and contrast therapy sessions, which were excellent value. This is absolutely a place I’d recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto."
