"I appreciated the value and the location to Galena, Illinois. This was my second stay here and it proved to be an excellent choice, clean easy to find and great location. I plan to revisit and take advantage of other tourist attractions near this hotel...i.e. Mississippi Museum."

"We were not warned before our arrival that there was scaffolding on the outside of the building. We almost didn’t go in because the outside looks like such disarray. We were pleasantly surprised when we stepped inside and saw such a lovely quaint renovated house. The inside was very nice. The service was great and the breakfast the following morning was terrific. "The mansion was beautiful and decorated Victorian style. Our room had its own A/C unit and attached bathroom with shower and spa tub. Breakfast was a delicious combo of cold buffet and personally served hot ham and egg sandwich. The owner is a great host and happy to tell the history of the house and area. Located in downtown Dubuque and walking distance to restaurants. "

"The elevator service was below standard. For the size of this hotel. there needs to be additional elevators installed. At breakfast time and again at check-out, there were long waits with large crowds on every floor."

"Nice spot for a quick weekend trip. Construction on a new building next door which took up much of the parking lot. However, staff was helpful and offered a shuttle to the casino. Strongly recommend Catfish Charlie’s for dinner nearby. "
