"Our stay at Mama Shelter was just right for us. The room was clean, comfortable, and had great air conditioning, which was especially appreciated when it was 100 degrees outside and we came back tired and hot after our tours. This was our first time in Rome, and we truly enjoyed the city to the fullest. A big plus was the hotel’s location—it’s only about a 15-minute walk from the Vatican, and the train station is just a 4-minute walk away. It is a little far from the city center, but getting there by train was very easy and convenient. The staff was nice, but we did feel that the service could have been more welcoming. We noticed that when we walked in and out of the hotel, they usually didn’t acknowledge us or even say hello unless we greeted them first. Whenever we asked for something, they answered our questions, but we didn’t feel that extra level of care or hospitality. We absolutely loved the rooftop! However, during our first two nights, we were told that we needed a reservation, even though there were plenty of empty tables in the restaurant. We were eventually allowed to sit, but we were a little disappointed and confused by the situation. We also had breakfast included with our stay. Every time we went to breakfast, we felt like we were being questioned at the entrance about whether breakfast was included in our reservation. We completely understand checking, but the way it was handled sometimes felt a little rude or uncomfortable. If we are coming down for brea"

"Everything about this property is 20/10 just perfect . I looked for a quiet area to explore Rome and to cook and chill on a balcony and this place did it . Beautiful courtyard, near transport , the bus is literally outside the property to the Mall or to the Metro and train . Loved it so much . The staff is exceptional. All reception staff is so amazing . I can’t leave without mentioning Garda . Ahh that girl is passionate about her job . Thank you Garda you are an angel . I will return just to see you . And the rest of the stuff too , the two girls ( so sorry to forget names , and the gentleman. Were equally great . You guys made my daughter and I stay so memorable. Excellent Grazie Mille"

"While the hotel itself is very nice, and nice to have a pool, the pool needs repairs (liner & edging need replacing and the ladder should be secured better. There isn’t any restaurants or anything very close by so we took a taxi a lot. That being said though, the staff were all wonderful and very helpful’"
