"A beautiful, splurge-worthy ryokan hotel with all the excellent amenities and service you would expect. Dinner and breakfast were amazing and the views of both the lake and Mt. Fuji were unreal.
There's a local bus that circles the lake and has a stop right by the hotel. We ended up walking to the hotel from the bus station, which took about 10 minutes, but the hotel also has a shuttle you can call."

"Overall experience were good. Like the onsen, but bed is too hard for us as we nit use to very thin mattress.
We have not very pleasure check out experience. The front desk called us three times for the 15 minutes late. Check out time is very stiff at 11:00am sharp.

"We loved this hotel. We picked it for the view of Fuji and it did not disappoint once the clouds had cleared. The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are a reasonable size, the facilities are good and the breakfast is very good with plenty of variety (even for my wife who is vegan). We used the private sauna / Onsen facilities every day. (you cannot use the public Onsen / Sauna facilities if you have tattoos). we walked a lot locally and ran 5 - 10km every morning on the lakeside which was very...

"We stayed one night at Kasuitei Ooya, and it turned out to be the highlight of our time in Japan. The ryokan gets the traditional experience right without it feeling staged — tatami rooms, yukata, and a real sense of care in everything. Our room had a lake view and a private bath, which our teenagers enjoyed as much as we did.
The kaiseki dinner was outstanding: beautifully presented course after course with local ingredients we didn't see anywhere else on the trip, and breakfast the next...
