"New property. Breakfast buffet is ok. Rooms are ok but some minor design faults were seen. Shower cubical has no door. Therefore water spill onto outside. Spend lot on high ceilings and blockout curtains but light still slip in to the room. "

"We stay in Cinnamon Grand every time we visit SriLanka. We love the set up with the lobby and the rooms.The rooms are clean well maintained and comfortable. Staff from the lobby,managers ,staff who clean the rooms are all very friendly ,courteous and professional in their jobs.They make us feel at home every time we come . I have no reservations in recommending this hotel to any one planning to visit Colombo."

"This hotel has an old worldly charm about it. The buffet at breakfast and dinner is incredible and the staff very pleasant. A lovely touch having someone play the piano in the evening. Would stay again when visiting Colombo. They organised a great 4 hour city tuk tuk tour too which was fantastic."

"Mount Lavinia hotel is in an amazing location with a phenomenal view. The F&B staff and food is excellent and very friendly. There was a games room with a pool table and table tennis table which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. There is work to be done in renovating the hotel and parts of the building to restore it to it’s former grandeur, but all in all a great place to base yourself and enjoy the beautiful and serene waves, lovely pool and mesmerising sunset you can see on the terrace. "Had a comfortable and luxurious stay here for our first three nights in Sri Lanka. Travelled in June which is off season / monsoonal however we barely saw any rain - sunbaked by the pool most days and was very relaxing to travel in the quiet season - at times had the whole pool and grounds to ourself. Buffet breakfast was incredible and had soooo many options. Grounds were beautifully maintained and the gym was perfect too"
