"This review was during renovations to the swim-up pool. The place seems fairly vacant, probably due to the cartel issue and possibly the renovations and fact they are switching to all-inclusive soon.
I enjoyed the pool, especially after security sent families to the kid’s pool. I found very funny and nice acquaintances to hang with daily.
I enjoyed the restaurant and pool food. The setting at the beach restaurant is beautiful and the staff were beyond wonderful.

"The Hotel Mio Adult Vallarta side only is wonderful due to no kids. The staff are professional and friendly. Their breakfast is ok, I feel there breakfast needs some improvement. There rooftop pool area has a beautiful view with plenty of shaded and open areas. It cost about $5. bucks to go to old town Malacone area by taxi and or Uber. Bring ear plugs due to peacocks that live in the trees next to the hotel. They make early morning noise. I wore earplugs and I didn’t hear them, and also for...

"There is no elevator and lots of stairs going every which way . The entrance gate is very heavy and slams loudly which echoes throughout the courtyard . Getting in the pool , the steps are very large abd you have to agile . Staff were very very good !! Would stay here again . "

"It's a decent place for the price and very close to the beach. However, the listing isn't quite accurate: there is no bar/restaurant, no beach towels, etc. It also just needs a bit more attention to detail - the pool was constantly covered in leaves and the chairs in the courtyard need cleaning. It's also very noisy - not the hotel's fault but the surrounding bars and hotels make sitting in the courtyard a noisy experience. "
