"The B&B Porta Marina Ortigia has an excellent location, next to a lovely church in the Historical part of Siracusa (Ortigia), and close to both restaurants, cafes, shopping and the sea. We ordered the Double room - Executive, as I was traveling with my mother, and we needed a twin room. Usually that means two single beds, but here there was one big double bed in a large bedroom, and one double sofa-bed, made up in another large room, that also had a TV and a desk. "place okay. Bit early in season. Everything at the accommodation closed at 7pm. Didn’t open again until breakfast at 0730am. Nowhere else to hang as main reception area closed at 1930so confined to pokey room or outside in cold. We were offered a bigger better room at an extra 20e a night on check in which came over as ours was bit rubbish! -which it was ! It was a 15 min drive to Avola on a dodgy road. Little to see in Avola - sea front area was ok but little there due to time of year. Room...
