"Locanda Valeria is a really lovely and hidden away place. Here are some things to note to manage expectations: You should only stay at this place if you lan on having a car and driving. Otherwise you will have to either walk down to train (which takes over an hour) or hire a cab company. The roads are very narrow. The breakfasts were lovely and plentiful and the rooms are beautifully restored and very, very clean. Would stay here again."

"Extremely disappointing stay. This property felt more like a low-quality, 1-star hotel than a welcoming guest house. The management is incredibly rigid and unhelpful. Check-in is at 2:30 PM, and they are super strict about it—you will not get your room even 10 minutes early. This policy makes no sense given their super early 10:00 AM checkout time. Furthermore, the 1-minute distance to the front desk advertised online is completely misleading. That might only be true for someone running a...

"Clean and good breakfast. Is on top, so need to take transport from town center to hotel. There is free shuttle every 30-60 min. Convenient location."

"Fabulous property. Didn’t luck in with the room (small balcony and average size/decor) but all other aspects of the hotel were truly world class. The pool area has amazing views complemented by attentive bar staff. Restaurant also has great views. All hotel staff were truly outstanding. "

The breakfast is very good, but needs more spark. The front patio fountain and many chairs created a warm atmosphere. The hotel seemed to have more vibrance than other Monterosso al mare lodging options. Perhaps the most essentially located and comfortable hotels in all of Cinque Terre."

"This stay was everything I needed. The staff was very helpful and considerate. My only advice to travelers is to consider taking a taxi to get there, as the walk from the train station (and vice versa) is about a half hour, mostly uphill."
