"Our room was clean and tidy if a little bit quirky. Steps up to bathroom/deep bath, making access to shower difficult. Steps up and down to room on corridor. Didn’t see that when booking?
Access to room denied until dead on 3 pm. We had been up from 3.30 am for the early flight from Manchester. We were able to drop off our luggage but even at 2.50 pm denied access - very pedantic receptionist who said our room wasn’t ready, then at the strike of 3.00 said it was. Early access arrangement and late checkout not offered. No air conditioning in room. Stifling hot. View good. Food good. The hotel needs to be more flexible on access to fit in with flights/ferries. Public area toilets need checking more often. I used the basement disability entrance, which could be kept tidier, swept outside and more welcoming. This led into the breakfast area, which was underground, as though we were second class citizens to be hidden away. However, they’ve obviously got a good chef. The hotel was being used by many people other than residents. Mixed feelings about this place."
