"This was a fabulous base for exploring Akureyri and the surrounding areas while travelling the ring road. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The only downside was the air-conditioning couldn't be adjusted and the window didn't open so it was quite hot in the room (which understandably would be great benefit in the colder months). Otherwise, we had a fabulous time!"

Clean room with functional TV and lots of space to put stuff on chair or on a rack. Bed is a bit small considering that it's a singles room. Room temperature leans towards the warm/hot side. "This hotel is amazing. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was top notch. Their breakfast buffet was above and beyond. Right across the street from the hotel is a hiking trail around the lake. There are at least 3 to 4 volcanoes that you can see. There is an ice cream store beside the hotel that makes all their own ice cream. It was delicious."

"Upon arriving we tried checking in early and our room was just getting finished cleaning. The woman at the front desk was so kind and gave us a few recommendations on things to do while we wait! We absolutely loved the location of the property on the water. They paid beautiful tribute to the rich herring history, without feeling cheesy - it felt like a cozy cabin throughout. "The property is located in the downtown area. Close walk to all the external restaurants and shopping. The beds were way too soft. It felt like you were sleeping on a bag of marshmallows. The pillows were so thin you had to fold it in half to make it work. And if you wanted another one it was 500 Islandic Kronos extra per pillow. The scrambled eggs and beans at breakfast buffet were cold."

"Our stay was the absolute best on our many one night stays along the ring road trip, our dinner at Agave was excellent , the chef helped us made our selection!! And we had a falls view right from our table! The Staff was amazing very thoughtful! Our room for 3 was very spacious , cozy and comfortable! We even had a view of the falls!!"

"The breakfast was mid. It cost me $100 CAD for 2 people and it was cold scrambled eggs, some bread and cold cuts. Wouldn’t recommend unless it’s your last choice. The hotel is dated, and room amenities look dated. Bed was hard as a board. Husavik itself is beautiful."
