The Coast Beachfront Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"A true hidden gem! This was our first visit to Costa Rica, and our stay at the Coast Beachfront Hotel was so worth it and really allowed us to enjoy our stay and maximize our time. Our room was very clean. For a junior suite, it offered everything we needed. The staff went out of their way to make it easy for us to get around by offering to contact local shuttles (even though we had a car) and excursions groups. Also, they recommended some great places for breakfast as an alternative on mornings when we wanted to get out and not have breakfast in the privacy of our room and enjoy the views of the beach and surrounding area which included seen monkeys in the trees from our room. Thank you Mavin, DeJean, Steffanie and the entire Coast Beachfront Hotel Team!

Wyndham Tamarindo
10/10 Excellent
"LOVED this property. The infinity pool is so relaxing. Shuttle into town so convenient. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Would highly recommend"

Hotel Mar Rey
6/10 Okay
"The hotel looks beautiful from the outside and it’s very easy to get to the beach. However it’s really disappointed inside the room, with old furniture and kind of less than standard minimal supplies. There’s a coffee maker but no coffee powders. No coffee at the front lobby either and you need to buy from outside. There’s no cup in the room and you had to ask from the front desk. So was the hair dryer."

Ten North Tamarindo Beach Hotel
8/10 Good
"I stayed in Tamarindo. This hotel is in the center of town and is a nice hotel. It’s a small hotel 24 rooms or so. Pool in the middle of rooms. Everything went smoothly and staff is great. My room only had single AC unit for the room and the room gets hot even with the AC running all the time. And I was the last unit on the top row of rooms and WiFi connection was barely in range some of the time .
Other than those 2 issues. It was a great property and clean. Close to the beach, supermarket, souvenirs and coffee shops. "

Jardín del Edén Boutique Hotel - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"We loved it here! The food was amazing. The staff were so friendly. We got to see the most wildlife at our hotel, more than during our tours. Howling monkeys right outside our room, ant eaters, iguanas. I named the black and white cat by the beach bar ROCKY. He loves pets. Kevin was so awesome by the beach bar. Minor complaint is shower is brutal to wash hair and it’s very easy for bugs to get in so do a good check. We had a massive cockroach in our room and various other little bugs."

W Costa Rica - Reserva Conchal
10/10 Excellent
"We had a great stay at the W. It was a beautiful resort with helpful staff. There was some wear and tear on furniture in the room but didn’t impact the stay. It was definitely pricey but paying for the brand. Only thing I wish was that for families traveling the adult only pool is beautiful and we will there were some hours that kids could enjoy the space as well."

Margaritaville Beach Resort Playa Flamingo
10/10 Excellent
"Rooms were acceptably clean, staff were awesome, friendly, polite, kind and very helpful."

The Westin Reserva Conchal, an All-Inclusive Golf Resort & Spa
8/10 Good
"Deluxe junior suite was beautiful! Adults really should stick with Westin Club pool. Best food was at Faisinella. Bamboo Asian was really bad. Caracola has most diverse menu and pretty good. Bathrooms in restaurant area were shameful. Sunset at beach incredible, but local vendors can be annoying. Overall still a great resort!"

Hotel Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort
10/10 Excellent
"Stayed here during a trip through Costa Rica and this place genuinely delivered. The location right on Tamarindo beach is hard to beat. You walk out and you’re basically already in the water. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and the AC actually worked well (always appreciate that more than the average person lol).
The pool area was a solid spot to post up during the day, and the beach access made it easy to go back and forth without any hassle. Staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They pointed me toward good spots in town and weren’t just trying to upsell everything.
Tamarindo itself has a great vibe and the resort is right in the middle of everything, so getting to restaurants, bars, and surf spots was easy. If you’re doing a Costa Rica trip and want somewhere with a real beach feel that’s not overly touristy or stuffy, this is the move.
Would definitely come back. 10/10 for the experience overall."
