"Overall the property was clean, beautifu and had very helpful staff, however, the rooms were a different story at least for my experience. The room had a musty smell to it and the bathroom had mold. Some of the outlets didn't work which were a little inconvenient but there were others to use thankfully. Bathroom is on the smaller side but still generally enough space. Seating was very limited at breakfast, but the staff did try to have a quick table turnover for people that were waiting....

"Julio was the absolute best! My husband and I went to Barcelo Tambor for our anniversary. We paid for 6 nights and stayed 4. The staff and people at the resort made it very clear that Americans weren’t welcome. We packed and left to find a hotel in San Jose and we decided on the Wyndham. Julio was there every step of the way and made us feel very welcome and we joked with him why we should’ve just stayed there the whole week! "This hotel really needs renovation and better cleanliness for the price they charge. It’s hard to believe this is an InterContinental. The lobby furniture looks old, and if you look at the bar lamps, several light bulbs are burned out. I was also charged $32 for three bottles of water from the minibar. The location is good and the food is good as well, but overall the hotel is overpriced."
