"Liked: room size and layout; easy parking and access; closet layout. Clean Disliked: room fan/ac/ heat was impossibly loud making it difficult to sleep- hear the tv or even carry on a conversation. (Room 406) -1 for that issue. Desk staff were unhelpful and not typical of my previous NL experiences. Over a 4 night stay, we engaged at check in/out and 3 questions - they couldn’t care less and were of no help."

"Breakfast at little Sparo was fabulous Room was terrible, very depressing, not sure why we had a handicap room, asked for harbour view, even though we booked 3 months in advance , & gave us parking lot view! Staff was just ok, not too helpful regarding any enquires we had about the area. Wouldn’t stay at Doubletree again!"

"The hotel is new, clean, and provides convenient parking access. While some room amenities required maintenance during our stay, the staff addressed the issue promptly by providing replacements. However, the breakfast selection was limited and fell short of the standard typically expected from a Marriott-branded property. Overall, it was a satisfactory stay with responsive customer service."

"Wistful location and a beautiful room. Very large with a nice sitting area, decorated with a spa like touch. Very comfy bed, waffle towels and bathrobe. Local toiletries to make you feel connected to the area. Conveniently located across the street from one of the best restaurants in St John’s the Mallard Cottage. An authentic experience all around with a luxury touch!"

"We checked in, our room was down in the basement. The smell was unbearable. It was out dated. The linoleum floor was peeling apart. We went back up and turned our keys in. We did not stay. The stink was just too much."

"The rooms were clean, it was nice having a microwave in the room. The hotel is quiet, at least it was for us on the 5th floor. Staff were very friendly. It was easy to check in after 12am. Made our trip to St John’s even better! Would recommend staying here. Thank you!"

"We booked here for 8 days with our two teenage grandsons. The bathroom consisted of a shower and toilet and wasn’t even big enough to change your mind. There was two hooks right up against the shower but was pretty difficult to hang 4 towels. The sink was outside the bathroom and there was no place to hang a hand towel after washing your hands. The room had two queen beds and not much other space. There was no cleaning of the room in the entire time we were there. Housekeeping would pick up...

"The staff were friendly and helpful. The property was clean and well maintained. I wasn’t expecting a kitchen in the room, but it proved to be very convenient. The only thing that I was disappointed in, was there wasn’t a charging station for my EV Hybrid vehicle."

"Had to ask for housekeeping to clean the room. The pool area was never monitored, as small kids vomited in the hot tub. As well the hot tub jets were out of service on 2 different occasions. Service at the restaurant was not the greatest. For the most part, my week went well, but this was a lot of issues for a 5 night stay."
