"Safe in room was not working, reported to receptionist who stated that maintenance would fix the following morning. This did not happen, safe still not working 2nd evening. Tv in room had European language channels and lesser known English terrestrial channels, but none of the main channels such as BBC, ITV, Ch4 or Skynews. BBC news was however on the large screen in reception."

"This is a gorgeous inn in a picture-perfect English village! The only issues I have is that the room for 3 people is quite inadequate in size and furnishings. A couple of hooks to hang clothes, a footstool as the only seating, no drawers and only one folding luggage rack, meaning we had to live out of suitcases on the limited floorspace. The restaurant was fabulous even though it had a very limited and expensive menu, and other options were in nearby towns. We would go back in a heartbeat if...

"Recently thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay at The Old Vicarage, having visited in Sept 2025, I immediately booked again for Feb 2026. Once again the location was idyllic, our room and shared kitchen were excellent. The owners Gerry & Patricia were fabulous hosts, the dogs Frank & Elsa were very welcoming and the kitten Jennifer was lovely. "We adored our stay and wish we had more time to spend here. What a wonderful country setting in a traditional B &B. Beautiful chapel views from our room which also overlooked a sweet field with sheep. We were welcomed at the door and bid goodbye personally. The cooked to order breakfast was wonderful and thoughtfully prepared and laid out. We would love to return if we are lucky enough to do so. True gem!!! Suzie and Wes from Oregon."

"Fabulous grand manor that’s been updated and converted. Good use of glass for atrium areas that feel warm. They take good pride in their food and for good reason - everything was absolutely delicious and at the highest levels, quite shocking for such a small place. But book your seating right away and early - limited seating. "

"Check-in and check-out were very smooth. The room was spotless and the amenities were excellent, including the well-stocked small fridge with food and snacks. The weather was exceptionally cold during our stay, and unfortunately the small heater wasn’t quite enough to keep the room comfortably warm."

"Character room, good size with everything you would need. There were a few things that needed refreshing but it was all fine for a short stay. The breakfast was really good, hot and well presented with good coffee/tea. Good value for money and good location for many places to visit."

"Already the premises give out a reassuring feeling of care and comfort. This is then corroborated by the quiet and clean rooms, warm and cosy, along with a spacious breakfast area which presents a good variety of food, replicated for the dining area. All this topped with an ample parking space. Last, but certainly not least, the caring and welcoming staff just make it a must to want to go back."

"Generally, had a lovely family break at this hotel. lovely and helpful staff, good variety of breakfast choices. No matter who you spoke too, night staff, day staff, staff at the fitness/spa centre, they were all very courteous and paid attention to our needs/queries and met them On discovering our room's air-condition was not working in the 1st night, they were apologetic and quickly got us fans that night as it past midnight and swapped our rooms early the next day. Kids enjoyed swimming...

"Good price but reflected in the extremely poor state of the rooms and particularly the bathroom. Cracked walls, lights that didn’t work, and an incredibly creaky floor. I really felt for anyone underneath us. Useful location but wouldn’t stay again."

"I booked through Expedia and didn't realise that even though it says the hotel has air con. That is only if you book a room with air con. Standard rooms don't have it. Our first roo. Had a meagre fan and smelt bad. However the staff were great and moved us to a room with air con and we were lucky as it was the last one! But the bathroom was not clean. Had to get people to come and clean the bath which had scummy around it at the bottom and the room door was broken and the top. I only booked...

"The bedroom was furnished to a very high standard as was the interior of this beautiful historic building. The staff were friendly and the garden is beautiful. It was a very nice English experience in a pretty part of the world."
