"Staff was so amazing and helpful. Rooms were small but clean. Bathroom was updated and had everything needed- body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Breakfast was very good offering full Scottish, waffles, or eggs and salmon. The restaurant on premises was also very good. The food was excellent and the sticky toffee pudding was the best i ever had. The only complaint is that the walls are thin."

Good choice of food and drink served in a nice friendly atmosphere. The staff are also a real asset of this hotel and it is plain to see that the ownership and management are now determined to continuously improve and look after this great hotel. I look forward to returning to The Great Western Hotel as soon as I can."

"We loved our stay! Right on the peninsula and right on the way for our road trip! Staff was friendly, but I couldn’t control the thermostat and it was 26 C when we walked in and the shower curtain was missing so everything got soaked. Other than that, truly lovely stay!"

"The room was dirty, dusty, the menu in the draw had tea/coffee stains on it - although it was laminated- and the drawers were full of crumbs/ bits, the toilet was tiny and the whole room was untidy/shabby looking. The breakfast which we paid £13.50 each for was not great, there was a good choice but the bacon was very lightly cooked the beans were cold and the eggs were either done too much hard or not enough & snotty. I only saw one member of staff the whole time he seemed to do everything reminded me of the tv show fawlty towers but they had more staff."
