"Well what a really pleasant place, surpassed all expectations. We stayed in The Horseshoe Suite and it was perfect for a short stay. Our only problem would have been the bath size - small, but the shower was more than adequate. "From start to finish staying at the old manse was a delight . Val welcomed us with a warm and friendly manner.the room was lovely clean and warm with a very good bed Good selection of things for a hot brew And the breakfast was fantastic a real quality full English cooked to perfection and piping hot we also had local kippers delish we cant wait to stay again ps very dog friendly 😋 "

"Our stay was lovely: the manageress, bar staff and waitresses were all welcoming. They provided information about the local area and showed interest when we returned after our days out. We stayed three nights in a very comfortable room, with a good selection at breakfast. We ate in one evening which very tasty. We would definitely stay here again."

"We stayed with our young son for 3 nights in July 2024. The staff were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and helpful with everything we needed and great with interacting with our young son. The food - breakfast and dinner - is truly incredible with nothing too much trouble. The only downside we experienced really was that we were in a room on the top floor which, while the room had clearly been hoovered etc, it was dusty in places with lots of cobwebs - while we don't mind spiders, we removed...

"Not our first stay here - a returning visit, as the previous one was so good - luckily, we got the same room as before; beautifully decorated, extremely quiet and comfortable, the bathroom quite superb, and already looking for an excuse to go again. The food in the bar/restaurant is quite, quite delicious, and the staff have obviously been very well briefed on how to deal with customers. We cannot fault this property at all - wonderful."
