"Superb pub and rooms steeped in local history - Robert Plant started his career here playing blues guitar aged 15 in the upstairs blues club (sadly not there anymore but the history is palpable). The pub is a treasure trove of history, and so well preserved, from the original staircases and ceramic tiling on the walls, to the original bar. My room was just sheer excellence. "Parking was easy and secure, staff friendly. Rooms basic and a little dated. but overall value for money. This is well run hotel, with good potential. Sadly the local area is clearly struggling, for once what was a busy bustling hight street is now a ghost town. "

"In 50+ years of travelling for business and pleasure this was worst property I have ever seen….i walked away and paid to stay in an another hotel …dirty,cold draughty falling down horrendous inside and appeared to being used almost as a doss house….absolute disgrace that it’s advertised…they lock it up at 11 only one door on a passcode is available …code didn’t work…anyone considering staying here don’t…there were holes in bathroom walls….hot water took an eternity and shower is an accident...
