"Great place to stay, we had the penthouse room on the top floor which had a balconies. It was a little bit noisy on the Saturday night, but the rest of the stay was quiet. You do have to go over the road to check in and have a beer but we knew that anyway, but that was the only thing I can fault with the hotel."

"Staff were all excellent and worked incredibly hard and made this stay enjoyable and stress free. The room was clean, spacious & well equipped. The quality of food in the restaurant was disappointing for price paid (e.g Crispy chicken burger - £20). Breakfast selection was good, but quality mixed (e.g hot items good but pastries were dry/very small). The airport shuttle was well organised & ran on time."

"We chose this property because of proximity to Colchester and Colchester Zoo and ample parking. We stayed in a room with garden view and were not disturbed by noise from the road. Room was spacious and breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Included were cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice and hot drinks."

"The ground floor bar and entrance is lovely but that theme didn't follow to the rooms. Perhaps I should have paid for a better room but I was hoping for the same vibe upstairs. Rather than sleek and quirky it was more student basic in my opinion. The paint on the ceiling in the bedroom and the bathroom were peeling off and there was black on the ceiling above the shower. The room was functional. However the team were polite, friendly and efficient and instead of working in my room I worked downstairs in the relaxed bar area. I didn't have breakfast but when I checked out a couple were having what looked and smelled like I lovely cooked breakfast! I would stay again but would go for an upgrade room and hope it was more like those in the pictures."

"My room was clean and spacious. Twin in the separate wing. Food in the restaurant was awful at dinner and they’d be better serving basic English food rather than attempting foreign cuisine. It was adequate for my purpose of dropping off a teen at university. Parking was great although very full, WiFi good and location central. All being said I’d stay again when I visit the university."
