The Grand Brighton

"Great Location, Cool Building with Interesting Historical Character but with Modernised Rooms - but not to the standard that they are charging for them, felt quite overpriced to me as someone who regularly travels, Iโve had much better rooms at the cheaper chain hotels. With the rooms being average you possibly could expect the hotel to justify its high prices through good service instead but again this was also average at best - with the exception of the concierge staff who were all brilliant, everyone else we interacted with felt like they couldnโt care less, nothing they said was particularly rude or wrong, it just felt like a lack of effort and like they were doing the bare minimum - Totally acceptable in a ยฃ70 a night Travelodge but not at The Grandโs prices. Everything else felt like a particularly pricey add on to try and fleece you too - parking @ ยฃ40 a night, Pool access is ยฃ27 a person for a 1.5 hour slot - if you managed to pre-book it, I ordered one alcoholic single and a mixer and a non-alcoholic drink at the bar and paid in excess of ยฃ25 for it. They need to either up their service levels / customer experience significantly or drop their prices a chunk to suit what they are currently offering to customers."

"My wife and I had a wonderful three night stay to celebrate her birthday. We loved everything about the hotel and its location and staff. Minor niggles with water temperature in the bathroom can be forgiven. Planning to be back in the future."

"Hotel location is really nice by the sea. There appears to be enough parking. Staff is very kind and helpful. Rooms don't have A/C which is massive downside. Swimming pool is quite small but sauna, steam room and jacuzzi is nice. Restaurant offers nice food with gluten free options too."
