"Staff was amazing throughout the stay and the room was impeccable. We loved the suite, the finishes, and the balcony. Bed was super comfy. Cocktail bar downstairs is underrated, not sure why it seemed empty because the bartender was a master and their gin selection was very impressive. Breakfast in the morning was also well worth it, the chef was very attentive and her food was delicious. We 100% plan to return and would highly recommend booking the suite for your stay. "

Only challenge is an accurate understanding of meeting arrangements to gain initial entry: Staff was waiting inside, unbeknownst to us, whilewe were waiting outside ! Instructions should stress “ring doorbell on arrival”, and provide location, since it’s a little hard to find, especially in the dark. But otherwise a truly lovely choice in Bordeaux."

"The Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes is a beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel common areas and rooms are beautifully and comfortably decorated. It’s a peaceful oasis amidst a busy city. We very much enjoyed the outdoor terrace and the spa. The hotel is located in the Chartrons neighborhood on the North side of Bordeaux. Plenty of restaurants and cafes are within walking distance. The Bordeaux city centre is a 30 minute walk from the hotel, but it’s a lovely walk along the...

"I stayed at Hôtel Cardinal in Bordeaux from 21st–23rd April and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience, especially given the high price. Both nights, the room was uncomfortably hot as the air conditioning did not work at all. It was 27° outside. The in-room phone was also faulty and would lose power within seconds, making it impossible to contact reception without going downstairs. On the first night, I had very little sleep due to the heat and was then woken early by cigarette smoke...

"Very nice hotel, 20mins walk from the city center. Beautiful room, however the air conditioning wasn’t working in our room but the staff were very helpful and brought us fan. Note they don’t see messages posted in the comments box when booking on Expedia - better sending separate message. There is an on-premise parking with limited spaces so make sure you contact hotel for it specifically and ask them to book it for you."

The shower was a small challenge given the smoothness of the very deep bathtub. It was not easy to stay warm while washing our body and the open-air shower."
