"The property was in a perfect location to walk that area of Vientiane, plenty of restaurants and shops just around the hotel. The breakfast spread is pretty amazing, though I would have preferred more Laos cuisine, but for expats from various countries, I think they did a great job. The bar was a great space and reprieve from the heat, though I wish their menu had more bar food for enjoying with alcohol or allowed outside food as there were so many street vendors outside. "We had a wonderful time staying at the Lao Orchid Hotel. We spent five nights there, and it felt like staying with family. The décor is very traditional Lao style, which added to the charm. There’s no pool, which was perfectly fine for us. Our room was sparkling clean, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Breakfast was fresh and delicious—especially the coffee. "Comparing same price range and hotel class, the rooms are much smaller in size, the lighting in poor (entrance and walkway to bathroom is dark), the entrance is very large and spacious but only 1 sofa for guests to sit / wait, the staff doesn’t greet guests as they walk in, the cleaning staff still comes in to clean your room even with the do not disturb sign on. Overall there are better same class hotel with better customer service, larger rooms and better overall value for your money."

"It’s an old hotel that’s what makes it charm! I hope they won’t make renovations and destroy the « cachet ». Our room was HUGE, and there were all the equipements that you usually finds in hotel room, and lot of storage. They also installed a little baby bed for us, it was lovely. We didn’t try the pool, so I can’t tell, but the breakfast offered was delicious and more than generous. "
