"What a disappointment. We have stayed at La Quinta many times, but this hotel was a dump. We ended up in a bottom room that was supposed to be oceanfront, but all we saw out our window was a berm of grass and weeds. It also was where people walked their dogs. The walk to the beach had all kinds of trash and garbage. The beach was nasty. We ended up being put at the end of a hall which overlooked the hotel next-door who was having a motorcycle convention. "I loved the location! The access to the beach and how close it was to a lot of places. My room location was perfect. The parking situation wasn't terrible and the overflow lot didn't look entirely sketchy. I only had one towel and washcloth when came in but magically had more the next day. The lobby and the room smelled like, what I can only describe as "elderly" (no slander, only as a reference). There seemed to be a staleness to the air in the room. The toilet stopped working at some point but...
