"We had a lovely stay. Our room was perfect for us….lovely comfy bed and a small courtyard where we had dinner delivered! We were lucky that the weather was very warm too. Our dogs were very happy and calm and safe there . I would happily recommend this room (2) for anyone travelling with dogs. Thank you Wynnstay and staff, you made our trip really comfortable."

The garden has a knockout location right on the river and some rooms also have this gorgeous view, including the huge bathroom with freestanding tub. There are however a lot of stairs. "The room we had was fairly run down. In particular it had a strong and unpleasant odour. At first we thought having the windows open would help. But part way through the night the smell was so terrible we were awake. In the morning we realised it must have been mildew and mold. Some of the glass window pains had black mould, not only around the edges but in the middle of the glass. We left pretty early because we couldn't be in the room anymore. "Cooks Flat is a great find in Wrexham! Tranquil, peaceful and beautiful walks on the property. What a treat to stay on a private estate and visit the Victorian kitchen and games room. I appreciated the welcome gifts and hospitality from the hosts too. Would definitely stay again next time I’m in the area."

"Location is great. Hote Is basic as reflected in price as well as reviews. Restaurant at hotel was terribly understaffed - only one chef. Took an hour and 20 mins for food to arrive. Secondly, there was no daily cleaning or towel change and was not mentioned clearly."

"We liked our room, the view it gave us over the countryside was brilliant. We struggled with the coffee maker, and gave up on it- some instructions would have helped. We also struggled with the shower controls and again some instructions would have helped. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was very good but we were a bit disappointed by the selection for dinner."
