"Very comfortable stay in a quiet area approximately 6 minutes walk to the Piazza del Duomo in the city centre. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooftop bar is delightful. Breakfast is fairly standard continental style. The Elite room is a touch of luxury and is worth the slightly higher price tag. I’d highly recommend a stay at this hotel in the heart of Catania."

"We were warmly welcomed by Celso who did an amazing job everyday to make us feel right at home. We were provided with a beautiful suite that was clean and welcoming. The breakfast was just right with a good selection of goodies. The team provided gluten free options for my wife which was brilliant. The hot tub was the highlight and it was kept clean and maintained to a high standard. Celso and his team were incredible throughout our stay. We highly recommend staying at Bastio Private Suites. "

"Rooms are very clean and well equipped! The historic details were lovely! Host was exceptionally helpful! He recommended a couple of delicious restaurants. These restaurants weren’t tourist trap. They were full of mostly people who speak Italian. That’s the kind of place I like to go when I’m traveling. I always keep my translator handy. Each restaurant did have one person who could speak fluent English. "

Please keep in mind that there is no lift, and accessing rooms requires taking 2 sets of stairs. Andrea was helpful with our luggage when we arrived, but he was not there when we departed so we had to take luggage down ourselves. "An amazing stay in Catania. Hated to leave our beautiful rooftop apartment. Lots of stairs but totally worth it. Our hostess Teresa was wonderful, friendly and efficient. "

"Oversized room with a jacuzzi, however, the system leaked and water seeped into adjacent room. No 24 hour staff, so, you need to be in communication. We left before staff arrived and left the key on the hook with other keys so no security beyond the cameras. The location was ideal as was the price."
