"Perfect location right on Monterey Bay between Lovers Point and Cannery Row. GREAT way to start each day by our favorite breakfast chef Carmen - truly extraordinary with everything made from scratch. Wine and cheese happy hour each afternoon at 4:00 is a great way to meet some of the other guests. The house was built in 1888 and there was an extensive remodel 3 years ago to spruce things up a bit without losing any of its Victorian charm. We will be back - thank you!! Jack & Amy - Ft....

"Beautiful, peaceful location. Amazing monarch butterfly preservation work demonstrated on site. Nice breakfast delivered to room. The suite was clean but shabby chic, historic furnishing. And like many historic inns, sound traveled from next door and upstairs rooms."

"I put this reservation in very early and was shocked when they put me, basically in the attic on the 3rd floor. That was 36 stairs I had to climb with some pretty substantial luggage. when I complained, I was told I could get a basement (!) room for 4 of the 5 days, but I would have to change rooms on the last day, I am 75 years old. is this something they do if you reserve through Expedia? "We stayed in the Steinbeck room which was a beautiful room. This is the room with the bathroom and shower each located separately in the hallway. For one night it was fine, although a bit awkward. Not sure I would want to stay a week in it, but the price was good and the breakfast was excellent. The area is nice with some good restaurants close by. The stairway is a bit narrow for hauling heavy suitcases/luggage upstairs, but manageable. Would stay again."
