Hotel that exceeded all my expectations

What a wonderful place to stay. The room decor was lovely, the atmosphere was fabulous and it was situated just 10 mins walk from La Cite and the Town Centre. Catherine was the most helpful of hosts and I would genuinely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location and host.

Catherine is an excellent host. Property is 10 mins walk uphill from the medieval city and next to the river. Parking is in free car park 2 mins walk from property. Rooms are fabulous. Lounge area very comfortable and lots of guide books etc available to use. Breakfast is excellent. Great stay and thoroughly recommended.

La Maison Vieille is conveniently located within walking distance of the old walled city and has plenty of parking nearby. The property has been thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, with attention to detail, and the owner and her staff are friendly and helpful. We'd particularly like to commend Neria for being so kind and helpful. It was also lovely to be able to enjoy home-made breakfast food around a big table with other guests. A lovely place to stay! Would certainly recommend

Exceptional is probably the best word to describe our stay at La Maison Vieille. Clean, modern yet still with that French rustic charm. Our hostess, Catherine was charming and helpful from restaurant recommendations to taxi bookings. Breakfast was traditional, homemade cakes and pastries and the brioche .... wow! Great location only 10 minute walk to medieval city one way and the same to the town the other which had a great Saturday morning market. Fantastic wine bar two doors down that served cheese and charcuterie too ... great value! Would without doubt stay here again and highly recommend to all. Merci beaucoup Catherine

Ideal

A beautiful building with an excellent host and facilities, La Maison Vielle is an ideal place to stay in Carcassonne. Close to both the bastide and the cite, it was an absolute pleasure to stay there for five days

Beautiful stay in beautiful Carcassonne

This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay, terrific and friendly people and in a marvelloud location on the edge of the cite. We really couldn't have asked for more- the bedroom was huge and very authentic for the building, the breakfast was just right and the courtyard was a perfect place to relax from the sun. And many thanks to Catherine and her colleague (along with Max the dog) for being such genial and helpful hosts. Simply wonderful.

This is a very nice small boutique hotel. Room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Only problem was that the towels and the blanket on our bed smelled so sour. Probably from having it in the washer too long before drying. I was a minor thing and if we would have stayed longer then 2 nights I would have asked for new towels and blanket. Overall this is a great location. I would def go back to this hotel if in Carcassonne.

We stayed at La Maison Vieille for two nights, with a plan to visit Carcassonne and the surrounding area. Our apartment was very pleasant and well equipped and we enjoyed it; there are a lot of nice little restaurants just down the street; parking was easy, but then we visited in March. The old Cite de Carcassonne is within walking distance. Catherine, the owner, is a very pleasant and helpful lady.

Delightful stay

We had a wonderful time staying at the property. It has a boutique feel, the room was very nicely and tastefully equipped. Breakfast was great and so was the host’s company. Location is also great, very close to Carcassone. Already recommended the property to friends.

El hotel tiene una decoración acogedora, todas las estancias son amplias, incluso el dormitorio. El desayuno muy bueno, todo casero, los dulces, las mermeladas, pan crujiente, variedad de salados... No es un hotel como tal porque no hacen las habitaciones todos los días y hay que saber que tiene escaleras para ir a las habitaciones por si se tiene algún impedimento físico como era nuestro caso. El pero lo pondría en que el precio a pagar allí no es el de la página de la reserva, se añaden tasas locales, a pesar de que al reservar ponía tasas incluidas.

Ci è stato chiesto più volte l’orario del nostro arrivo, con messaggi e email La cosa più deludente è che non funzionava la doccia, solo acqua bollente, abbiamo chiesto la riparazione e non è stata effettuata, 2 giorni senza poter fare la doccia e senza nemmeno le dovute scuse. La colazione si è costretti a farla con altri ospiti nella stessa tavolata, se la tavolata è occupata bisogna aspettare che si liberano i posti. In generale luogo mediocre e che non vale le 221,00E per le due notti. Cordialità minima.

Da vi ankom til døren, tænkte vi åh nej, hvad har vi bestilt. Men kommer ind i den mest fantastiske bygning. Dejlige store moderne værelser. Lækkert morgenbord - og så ligger det lige ved foden af Carcasonne (gåafstand).
