Barcelo Cancun hotels

"I’ll start with the negative which isn’t much. The rooms are starting to show their age. Now the good which FAR outweighs the bad. When you get there you’re greeted by excellent staff. Roberto was my favorite. He was such a huge help to us setting up rides to places as we don’t speak Spanish and he spoke great English and is just a super friendly man. My other favorite was the theater bar at night where they had great shows every night but more importantly the two bartenders out there, Eulices (which I’m sure I have spelled wrong) and Ernesto were fantastic!! There was a bunch of great staff but those three deserve a raise for sure"

"You will get tormented unless you do the “Orientation Meeting”. Called our rooms 8:30 and for 2 days until I disconnected the phone. This turned us off the very 1st day. Most staff are friendly but many aren’t into it. Bartenders are slow and have conversations between themselves when there are lineups. Be prepared to be spoken to like a child. Food is abundant but buffet is not great. Japanese restaurant"

"I'm sure this is a lovely resort, but we were unable to go because the Cartel and Mexican police were at war the day before our arrival. We called this resort and a rep named Cole advised us not to come b/c violence was only 5 miles away. He said Hilton made a blanket decision that all cancellations would receive a 100% refund. Three weeks later, we still haven't seen a dime. Expedia is dragging their feet saying the hotel will not return their calls and emails for approval. I find that hard to believe. My only choice is to share with others about this horrible Expedia experience."

"Impossible to find poolside chairs, any seats by the pools. People are reserving them by going at 7am and leaving personal items. Nice resort but not my best experience. Also no lounges for customers when you check out from the room, our flight was in the late afternoon. "
