Excellent mid week stay, the rooms were clean and nicely furnished, the bed was super comfortable. We had a delicious meal in the restaurant and the staff were faultless. I would thoroughly recommend The Old Red Lion.

Rooms and public areas are somewhat dated. Continental Breakfast left in the room was poor to say the least OK for a one night stay Website unclear as indicates check in only from 6pm whereas the pub is open all day

Last minute booking as working in the area. Friendly staff, nice bar & restaurant, evening meal was delicious and good selection of ales. Very spacious room with comfy bed and good water pressure on the walk in shower. Also had a fridge in the room with complimentary bottled water. Continental breakfast provided the night before to eat in room10/10

A great pub and inn. Would totally recommend. Meal was delicious - one of the best we’ve had on our trip. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Clean and comfortable room with everything you need.

Very warm welcome which was lovely and while I didn't eat in, I did drink in the bar and again, everyone was super helpful and pleasant. Room I had was spacious and very quiet.

The property is in a remote location. Breakfast was continental (toast and pastry) unless you paid an extra fee, and the coffee was not very good. The rooms were fine, but could do with updating, the carpet, furniture and tv were tired and old. The bed was a double with a solid end - my 6ft partner struggled to be comfy as his feet hit the end - would not recommend for anyone tall. There was also only one bottle of water in the (very noisy) fridge and one pack of biscuits. We ate in the restaurant and the food was quite good, check in was easy.

Nice local pub with rooms , rooms clean but do need a little maintenance, the curtain rail is coming off . Food great. We had lunch and it was excellent, breakfast was nice

Was very disappointed that it was continental breakfast,although think that was the fault of Expedia who we booked with not stating the fact in the booking. Expected full breakfast and got 1 slice toast,1 croissant a banana and a yoghurt. If you wanted a cooked breakfast you had to pay £10.50 and then didnt get the continental. Better booking at Holiday inn and Hilton for the price, with a fantastic breakfast included and better facilities. Will think twice about booking with Expidia.

We loved our lodge (room 9), which was refurbed to a very good standard. All the staff were excellent, and the check in was very efficient (from parking to unpacking was about 8 minutes!!). Dinner on Saturday 5th August was awesome, and the fact that we didn't have to drive anywhere afterwards meant that my husband was able to have a couple of large glasses of red wine. A really great all-round experience.

The room was beautiful but the bed had a footboard and being 2 tall people, it meant we did not fit in the bed. The bed also felt very loose. When we booked the room it stated it came with breakfast - I assumed this meant a full english. This turned out to be wrong - that would be an extra £10.50 a person. We paid for the extra breakfast and although my husband really enjoyed it, I found there was no choice. Most places offer beans or a choice of eggs. This meant I gave most of my breakfast to my husband. The dinner though was amazing. I really wanted to like this place because on the outside it was stunning but the lack of sleep and breakfast choices disappointed me.

Friendly and welcoming
We received a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. The room was spacious and clean. Food in the restaurant was great. The staff were really pleasant and were very courteous and seemed to be happy in their work. Definitely a place to re-visit. Oh and LOTS of parking space!

Great food, excellent staff and for us a perfect location. Only negative, no bathroom mirror in room six due to it getting broken by previous occupant.
