Great pub,
Fabulous inside and good food. Great service and rooms are to a good standard. Prices a touch high, but I’ve stayed in much worse and paid much more. Very attentive crew, who go out of their way to oblige. I would definitely stay again. Overall, good to very good. Worth making the effort to visit and stay. 8/10

Disappointing
The room hadn't been cleaned properly before arrival as the floor was dirty and hair everywhere, even in the bed! The restaurant was closed for the evening and although we paid for breakfast in the booking, nothing was provided as the pub was still closed. The pub, rooms and location were fine but just let down by minor details that could have been easily rectified.

Great food, good accommodation
Pleasant stay at the Black Bull, comfortable accommodation in detached courtyard with reasonable facilities (TV, Coffee/Tea/Stand Up Shower/Bath, Hanging and charge points). Food (Dinner & Breakfast) was excellent and hospitality by Alex was excellent. Very quiet village with limited services but perfect for some R&R or Stansted stopover.

Comfortable hotel . Rooms quite big. Free easy parking restaurant is also good so was breakfast. Staff cheerful which is always nice especially after a long day of airport delays. Keep it up guys.

Warm and welcoming
We arrived at the hotel early as we were on the wine tour and didn't want to be late. The kitchen made us bacon sandwiches before our taxi turned up to take us for the tour. When we arrived back we were met by a friendly team of staff where we were made to feel very welcomed. The pub turned into a dog fest in the evening and we had a lovely time. Would definitely go back for a weekend break. 10/10

Too expensive
The cost was far too expensive for the room. I would have expected to pay around £70/80 for the room. A couple of lamps had bulbs that were out. I moved the bed to plug in my radio alarm and there was quite a bit of dust on the floor. The cooked breakfast was good and staff were friendly.

Charming place to stay
Was there for just an overnight for a meeting the next day. The Black Bull is situated in a lovely little village, which felt very peaceful. Rooms were chalet type, good size, but the insulation between rooms was quite thin. I could hear the person next door walking around their room. The pub was great though landlord and staff were very friendly and enjoyed a chat.

Excellent Food with, importantly, a gluten free option. Fantastic breakfast. Clean room. Warm. Friendly folk. Nice open wood-fire. Good beers. Nice location. Relaxed. We thoroughly recommend it.

Bra boende på landet. Stort modernt rum, rent och snyggt. Trevlig pub på armlängds avstånd med bra kök. Ett alternativ till hotell vid Stansted Airport, bara 40 minuters bilresa.
