"Property owner very friendly and sociable. Took us for a tour around the premises. Very interesting and informative. Has a restored Trulli on the premises too. "
"We loved staying here! It was a long drive out in the country to find it, which makes it such a quiet relaxing stay. The dinner (extra cost) we had there was delicious and my favorite experience during our whole Italy vacation!"
"We found La Maison extremely convenient midway between Bari airport and our cruise port in Taranto. It is a family establishment, very clean and safe. We used the pickup and drop off car, the service was impeccable too! They recommended a resturant for our next night stay that was not only close walking but delicious. Highly recommend. Grazi!!!"
"Interesting history but really in the middle of nowhere and loud traffic nearby. Basic rooms and wifi was not working that day. No facilities. Breakfast ok. Staff helpful "
"Foul weather caused our British Airlines flight to divert to the little town of Bari. We were a plane full of holiday travelers just off-loaded at 8 pm and told by BA - here is your luggage, we will leave in 12 hours, good luck finding accommodations for yourself.
Using Expedia I was able to get a room at this hotel pretty quickly. Others in flight not so lucky, hotels were booking up fast as our flight was not the only unexpected aircraft to divert to Bari.

"The staff is super friendly, they are very accommodating and helpful. The stay is lovely, quiet, right in the centre of old town. Downstairs in the square is an excellent restaurant - easy for family to dine out. Thank you and we would recommend this place! "
"the first thing that stuck us was how out of town this type of accommodation is. That applies to all Masseria hotels. The rooms are situated around a pretty courtyard. The rooms are basic and of reasonable size. There are no facilities for making tea/coffee. However, there is a fridge. A small sitting area is outside each room. There is no bar here and the restaurant does not open till 8 pm. the reception can provide wine or coffee. We bought our own beer and kept in in fridge in room....
"Our stay at Masseria Surace was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, Pasquale welcomed us with warmth and genuine hospitality. He took the time to get to know us and went above and beyond to share the best local recommendations, making our experience feel so personal and authentic.
The property itself is absolutely breathtaking—peaceful, beautifully designed, and full of charm. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated and effortlessly elegant. We left feeling inspired, rested,...

"Such a unique hotel. Loved it. Especially the baths!!"
"Lovely property in quiet location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, as was the evening meal. Room was well maintained and very clean."
"Excellent hotel to stay at when in Puglia. It's extremely well located near Polignano a Mare, with incredible views, restaurants, and some shops. It has a fantastic Medieval look all over, as it is located in the Center of everything. It has a beautiful Cathedral in front and a very safe area.
The staff is outstanding, caring, and very resourceful. They have very well-trained people managing several languages to communicate.
It's immaculate and has all you need inside and outside the rooms.
I highly recommend this Hotel!"
"Although we spent little time in the hotel it was well maintained and staff was good. Had minor issues in the room, tables were not stable but they fixed them , the soap in the shower was empty but other than that the ac worked , the room was clean all good. It’s a bit away from the sea side so keep that in mind it is in a more business area "
"Excellent Location and great experience being in the historic centre of Matera . Incredible view just outside the hotel room.its magical . Spa cave is magical and totally relaxing ,I will be back .Never felt lonely as a solo traveller ."
"Located a short walk from the village this was the perfect base for our exploring around Alberobello, and surrounding area. We had a minor drama when I lost my car keys and the staff could not have been more helpful. Thank you Joe!"
