"Clean rooms, very good staff, good breakfast, good bar, close to all.bars, shops etc. Noisy outside during the night due to location. Cant be helped by the hotel, but good to.know"

"We're used to staying in more corporate hotels, so found the personal service a little overwhelming. Our room was very nicely decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. We stayed though during a very hot spell and the room was stiflingly hot with the windows unable to be opened more than a few inches. We weren't offered a fan, so maybe we should have asked as we didn't sleep very well due to the heat. We found breakfast interesting- we had to pre order the night before, which we don't like to do and were surprised to find the menu was totally vegetarian. Despite pre ordering, we still had to wait 30mins for our hot breakfast to arrive but all in all it was good quality, although we're not sure what happened to the wholemeal sourdough that we ordered as it was just white toast that arrived. There were lots of breakfast choices, with many different teas and the fresh fruit was exceptional. Nothing really wrong with our stay except the room as mentioned above. A different experience to what we're used to and unsure if it suited us."

"Thought the location would be noisy, but the rooms were nicely tucked away behind the pub. Rooms are not spacious, but are well maintained and cleaned daily. Only issue I came across was that the shower waste needs some drain unblocker, but I'm not going to score them down for something that might never have been reported to them. Would definately recommend for a one or two night stay. Buxton too, is well worth a visit."
