A nice hotel in a relaxed and good area of the city. Very good service, but somewhat lacking breakfast. Beds were also a bit hard for my taste, but so have almost all beds I have had in Budapest.

Location is excellenet

This hotel is in a great location - just a 5 minute stroll from Margaret Bridge. The reception and bar area are very nice and the staff were excellent. The room was a little dated but very comfortable nonetheless. I would definitely stay in the NH Budapest City again.

Great location, car not needed. 24 hrs pass bought at cable car ticket boxes are good for cable cars and buses. Box is about 2 blocks from hotel. Parliment (cable car 2) building is not far. Across the bridge u take bus 6 or 6A to Buda Castle. I recommend taking a nighttime river cruise.The staff at the hotel are wonderful I felt like I was leaving family. Tamera really stands out.

A good basic hotel with convenient location

The 7th visit to this hotel in two years, now a full week on meetings. The service all in all is good, I only feel sorry for the room cleaners who must do their work in a few minutes and do not have time to do their job properly. The breakfast I rate as 7/10, juices are actually pure sugar water and if you arrive after 08.00, some items like better fruit are finished. No omelette service etc. The hotel is well situated, when booking the room try to avoid the ones looking into the lobby / inner court.

It’s listed as a 4-star hotel, but it doesn’t seem even close to that. Maybe it was back in the day. The hotel is in a great location. I also found the front desk staff very helpful. The bartenders weren’t very good (one older gentleman interrupted my phone call while I’m sitting having a beer to have me pay, so I had to cash out twice since I had a second beer, so that was weird). The hotel didn’t have any bar food or dinner options, even though line it lists that the hotel has 24-hour food service. The room was a good size. I liked that it had a balcony. The bathroom wasn’t very clean, so that was gross. Staying there several night, I noticed they never cleaned the bathroom to get all of the women’s’ hair off the floors (I’m bald so it isn’t me).

It was good but could have been better. Room was nice, clean but basic. Disappointed with bath/shower combo. Have one or the other. Bed was two singles pushed together. Pretty uncomfortable if truth be told. Breakfast was good, but no bacon on cooked option. At least two, maybe three types of sausage but no bacon. Scrambled eggs weren’t great. Fruit, bread selection, yoghurt, muesli were great though. But no teapots for those who want tea; had to refill tea cup about 6 times cos it was so small. Staff were friendly, didn’t have much interaction other than check in/check out. Area around hotel is decent with a few bars/restaurants.

Potentially the worst room I have ever stayed in. After seeing that cheaper hotels had poor ratings on cleanliness, I decided to pay more and go for a known brand which I had used before, as this would be the longest stay of the trip. However, I paid a lot more and got an equal level of cleanliness (or worse). My room had no outside window; it opened over the lobby, which was noisy early morning and late evening. No fresh air. A multi night stay should have a window to the outside. I asked to change but not possible. There were hairs, gunk, and a mini cockroach in the bathroom. Not at all clean. The room needs a good refurbishment, with wallpaper coming off the wall and patched up in various places. There was a card mentioning to enjoy the complimentary beverage, but no beverage provided. The bathroom products had been watered down and not useable (conditioner and body cream). Only plus was that the hotel had good transport links and very close to the river. I will not be using an NH hotel again!
