"All staff were friendly and helpful. Easy welcoming check in. A huge fresh selection at breakfast every morning from fresh fruit, yogurts, meats, cheeses, fish, cooked foods, bread, pastries, gluten free options, various coffees, teas, smoothies, juices and more. Room was very clean and comfortable and we had a lovely view from our 9th floor room. The airport bus stops right outside the hotel and is easy to book. Is located about a 10-15 minute walk to the centre. We ate at the hotel most nights food was delicious."

"We were very happy with our stay at the Aurora Hotel. We knew that breakfast was included, but we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the hotel also offered complimentary coffee, tea, and cake from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., as well as a complimentary buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m. The staff were extremely nice, always smiling, polite, and very helpful. These wonderful extras really made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel!"

"Upgraded to an Ole Wang Garden cabin at the last minute. The "house" was huge with 4 bedrooms. Kitchenette was well equipped although the utensils and pan were well used to the point the non stick pan was somehow scrapped by some sharp metal utensil (i don't know who/why anyone would think to use metal to scrape a non stick pan). Location is slightly off as you got to drive a few km inward on almost a fairly narrow 2 way road near to the end of fjord. Would be great if there were clear skies during the northern lights season but we had cloudy days, rain and day with strong gusts of wind so strong that the whole cabin creaked every time the gust of wind hit the house. Breakfast is standard buffet which supposedly is only included if you stay in a hotel room and not one of the apartments/cabins."

"This is a lovely facility and a wonderful pastoral location. The rooms have good beds and are very clean and the staff is very warm and friendly. The food however does not meet their description.s It is very costly pretends to be gourmet food with little taste. It’s good that the location is wonderful and that the people are friendly. It makes the accommodation get a passing grade."

"Our three‑night stay in the Whale Apartment at Steam pier near Tromsø was genuinely wonderful. The space itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and offered fantastic panoramic views that made every morning feel special. The bed was super comfortable, the apartment was quiet, and the location struck the perfect balance — peaceful, yet still close enough to Tromsø to explore easily. What truly elevated our stay, though, was the exceptional staff. As we checked in, the two young people who welcomed us were an absolute delight. Both the young lady and the young man were wonderfully kind, genuinely helpful, and greeted us with bright, happy smiles that instantly made us feel welcome. Their friendliness and positive energy set the perfect tone for our stay and left a lasting impression. Parking: Parking is straightforward, but you do have to pay, and this is clearly stated in advance. Please don’t take it out on the staff when you arrive — they’re not responsible for the parking fees. Just factor the cost into your budget or choose accommodation with free parking if that suits you better."

"We had an absolutely unforgettable stay here! From the moment we arrived, Esther made us feel so welcome with her thoughtful and caring hosting. The house itself is incredible—beautiful, cozy, and perfectly located, 15 min drive from the airport, to enjoy Tromsø and the surrounding islands. The highlight of our trip was, without a doubt, the Northern Lights. We were incredibly lucky to witness a long and stunning aurora display right from the house—and honestly, it was even better and longer than what we experienced on a guided aurora tour. Being able to watch it comfortably from the property made the experience even more magical. If you're hoping to see the aurora, this place gives you an amazing chance. Esther’s recommendations were also spot-on and really helped us make the most of our stay. We left feeling grateful for such a special experience and would recommend this place without hesitation. Truly a perfect stay! The only downside I would say is that the hot tub has a fixed price for a day. But also understandable as someone needs to be available for switching on/off. Overall a wonderful experience"
