A really terrible experience. We paid a high premium to book a room with a “sea view”. But Shangri La gave us a room with a Garden view and a very obstructed view of the sea. At checkin the staff were first arguing aggressively that Shangri La room details on Expedia had specified that it was a partial sea view. But we showed in our confirmed Expedia booking that there was no such caveat of partial view in our booking or in how Expedia is currently marketing “sea views” in current Expedia bookings. After a 2-hour shouting match with check in staff when we shows all the evidence, the staff apologized that the result Om offered was not a sea view but the General Manager Hans refused to acknowledged this core mispresentation although - paradoxically- he agreed to “improve how rooms are marketed and communicated”. A disgraceful display of total lack of ethics and integrity. The resort is beautiful but this horrific experience marred our precious vacation. We would urge Expedia to strongly take up this flagrant ethical violation and misrepresentation on the Expedia platform.
