"Character, charm, and comfort. From the outside, the St. Moritz reminds me of stays in villages in Europe. Walking into the lobby and sitting area was a warm welcome. The St. Moritz has been nicely restored and renovated. Ah, the charm and comfort: spacious room, big bed, fluffy pillows, seasonal views out the windows, and a rain shower. The multiple seating areas and toasty fire in the living/gathering area invited us to sit, read a book, and catch up on journaling. So lovely! Even though we were at the St. Moritz during a soft opening, they made us feel at home."

"The room was clean, and the location was great. But there is no one in the reception, and no one was reachable by calling the contact number posted on the office door. If you booked on a third-party website, you are in trouble. I tried every way to contact the hotel but failed. Then contacted Expedia; they were able to get in contact with them. Finally, I was able to get check-in information after waiting outside for almost 2 hours."

"Our stay in the resort's Waterfront collection was great! The Junior suite was literally on the water with beautiful views. It's a large room with gas fireplace, jetted tub, separate shower, dual sinks and a comfortable king bed. Nearby Black Bear restaurant on Main St. was a favorite, with only a two minute walk for great food. We didn't have the chance to use their kayaks or paddleboats, but did take advantage of the hot tub and indoor pool in the Lake House for post-hikes recovery. This was the one area clearly in need of renovation. Overall, the High Peaks Resort's Waterfront collection is now one of our top choices to stay in Lake Placid."
