"The hotel was built in 1997 by John Q Hammons, a SW MO business man and philanthropist who has since expired and the property is now owned by Atrium hospitality which cut staff, services and other amenities while raising prices and running the property into the ground.
Signs of neglect and decay are clearly visible particularly in the swimming pool and in the rooms
As is common with takeovers and buyouts, the new owners are more interested in short term pecuniary gain than long term viability."
