The Positives
The room itself was clean, nice, and well-maintained. I had booked a King Size room, and it was exactly what I expected in terms of comfort and cleanliness.
The Challenges
1. Booking & Check-in Confusion
I had a frustrating time with the reservation. Although I attempted to book for 2 adults multiple times (and the rate for 1 or 2 people was the same), the reservation somehow defaulted to 1 adult.
I called the hotel directly a week before my arrival to confirm that the room was for two people. The agent I spoke with wasn’t very helpful but explicitly confirmed that the room was for two. However, upon arrival, I was told the reservation was only for one person. I was forced to pay an additional $100,000 COP per night for the second person. Even after speaking with the manager, they refused to honor the information I was given over the phone simply because I used Expedia as a third party.
2. Poor Phone Support
When I called ahead of time, the customer service was lacking. Beyond the confirmation error, I was told that airport transportation was not included because of the third-party booking, and I was unable to add an extra night through the hotel directly.
