"The place is down 2 roads you are sure your in the wrong place-but when you get in the property is beautiful. If u r a nature & animal person this is 4 you. Uber friendly cats, a flamingo, parakeets, toucans, lush greenery. & then the view- super high over trees 2 the amazing ocean below. The Facilities- has nice sauna 4 use. Common area pool is beautiful & U can C 2 the ocean. Dining room is fine-breakfast is plenty 2 eat w eggs, fruit, salami, fried cheese, toast & jam & yucca or mofongo w juice & coffee. The room- clean, well maintained- rustic but nothing even a city boy like me cant handle--amazing views w a VERY NATURAL shower -never saw anyone else but the goods are out for the birds 2 see. Sadly the hot tub in the room never got past warm bath & the "jets" only server 2 circulate the water. The hot tub in the common area had functioning jets w near cold water. Staff- shout out 2 Stefan & Chef Mirko w suggestions on where 2 go- Playa Rincon is beautiful-(@ split w police go right till U get 2 the restaurant-there is shade & chairs 4 rent & U can get a drink or food. The next day we did playa playita- also beautiful w chairs, shade & a restaurant-much busier than Rincon. First night we went 2 "top rated" restaurant in the area- I would give it a 6.5. We asked 4 other suggestions & Stefan convinced us Chef Mirko on property was the way 2 go 4 dinner- not wrong at all! Octopus tender, langostinos, pasta amazing, incredible Tomahawk steak- eat w Chef 4 sure."
"I liked the concept of this property. So beautiful. Food was very very good! Water in the chalet had problems, we didn’t have water for a couple hours so flushing was a little bit of hassle sometimes. Shower didn’t have a lot of water but it was hot so it was good after the pool. AC in the first floor didn’t cool anything since it wasn’t set up right but it is a cabin so expect to be hot if you go in the summer. I loved my experience tho. But this is basically like camping so adjust your expectations. I don’t think you’ll regret your stay here. i recommend the Dominican breakfast and the chocolate de agua, soooo good! Everyone was nice but Delianny was so cheerful I loved it!"
"This place feels a bit like glamping at the beach as you have amenities but everything is rather rustic. Great location and lovely breakfast and a nice family-run spot. Kitchen was not super functional, at least not for our family. Be warned that you must pay in cash to avoid the $20 PayPal surcharge. Overall a good experience."
"Nice place to get away from the tourist type destinations. Private beach is nice and not crowded at all. Hotel could use some updating and better night activities/events. Surprisingly the food was actually good and there were a variety of options that’s differ every night. Overall I would recommend given the price and location."
"AMAZING, beautiful, extremely unique and secluded 'hotel'. This was one of the top 'hotels' we have ever stayed in. The communication with the host was great, and the staff were very friendly. We booked jungle loft #7 which was beautiful, but after realizing that you could see the inside of the loft when it was getting darker out, we asked to be moved to the loft above (I believe #6) - which the host kindly agreed to. Staying in the jungle SURROUNDED by beautiful glass windows/walls this close to the beach was the most beautiful experience.
There are 'wild' dogs all around, which we gladly made friends with (they like to dig up the crab holes on the beach at night to play with the crabs, it was an interesting and fun experience to watch).
However, if you are a first time visitor of DR, as we were, I would recommend you book this stay towards the end of the trip once you are more comfortable with how the DR works (especially if you aren't fluent in Spanish). We booked at 3 different hotels, and this was our FIRST of the trip. With how secluded it is, it was a little jarring for us as the first stay.
About excursions - Taino may be affiliated with the excursion company surrounding, but they do not run the excursions. That being said, count your money before you pay your tour guide and while you are handing the money to them. Our guide told Taino that we cut him short of 20 USD (we counted the $ in front of him as well as gave him a tip). Taino handeled it well though!"
"I absolutely loved this hotel. It was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The beach was stunning, and the bar had such a great atmosphere. The staff was also amazing—everyone was so kind and welcoming.
The only things I think would make this hotel even better are TVs in the rooms and a pool. Other than that, everything was wonderful.
I truly enjoyed my stay and had an amazing time. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting!"
"Room was beautiful and clean, with a terrace facing the ocean and a hammock. We were there during low season (June) so it was very quiet which was lovely for us as we wanted to rest and recharge. People looking for a party might prefer somewhere else though. There was a lovely breakfast included. The staff was so kind and helpful, and even arranged an airport transfer for us 3 hours away to Santo Domingo. We are already dreaming about coming back!"
