"The property is less than one year old, so all the modern amenities, plus new. The kitchen was equipped well enough and there is also a large grill outside. The pool is in a central courtyard, surrounded by a privacy wall. The owner was visiting during my stay and was very welcoming. The property is located on the edge of town, so a car, taxi, or Uber is the best way to get to central PV. But there are some restaurants and shops within walking distance. "We loved this property but recognize the steep walk up and 55 steps down to our room might not be for everyone. It was just fine for us because the only noise was the sound of waves against the rocks below our room. Also, communication was excellent for us due to problems with Expedia but our hostess patient and helpful. The rooftop patio was lovely with great views of the harbour. The apartment was spacious with very comfortable furniture. "

Riu Flamingos - All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent

"Very clean, staff friendly and helpful, food very good. I ate at the Asian, Italian and Mexican specialty restaurants and all had good service and food - still buffet style but different from the buffet with better service. Pool water was a bit warm for me, but its Sept so everything is warm! Lots of pool and beach chairs. No waiter service at the pools though, which was odd, but did not bother me, I simply went up to the swim up bar at the adult section. Large resort, but still able to find quiet spots. I was on a solo trip and always felt safe. I would recommend this resort for families. Next time I will probably try the adult only Riu down the beach, just because of the kids, there were a lot of them! Nice beach to walk. Again I can recommend this resort because I have no real complaints"

"The moment we step in to the lobby the aroma of a well kept hotel is so calming and then staff greeted you as if they were expecting a vip guest arriving. Always kept their smile on their face and help you in any concern or question about your travel. Breakfast was so deliciuos and variety of choices is endless. Outdoor pool is located on the rooftop which has a perfect view of the ocean and the sunset. Definitely will be staying here the next time we visit PV."

"Velas is a beautiful resort. The staff has always been helpful and very friendly. Fun activities and nightly shows along with good food with themed dinners. There is a nice and clean gym that has the basics for a good workout. The rooms are comfortable and relaxing. We have stayed here many times and will continue to return."
